You guys are way too focused on the wrong things.
Redford is smallish, and not jet quick.
So he's made up for that by having a lightning quick release and incredible accuracy.
He's overcome his weaknesses.
Drew is one of the shortest players in the NCAA, yet manages to get into the lane for that effective teardrop shot. How does he do it? By turning his disadvantage into an advantage by changing the timing of the relase.
Athletically, I see Redford and Wolf as similar. The difference between them was Johnny's shot was low, slow, and not accurate. If Redford can handle the ball like Wolf (decent, not great), run the offense OK, and shoot the lights out when he's open!!!
Making open shots will not be an issue for Redford. Getting open shots is what worries you guys. We'll it worries opposing HS coaches too, and they run 2 guys at him all night and he still get 53? It's not out of place either. He's gets 35+ EVERY SINGLE GAME. he hasn't been stopped. 12 3's, 5 FT, and 6 2 pt buckets.
By the way, how many of those shots in that video came off the dribble? Maybe 3/4 of them. How effective do you think he would be coming off screens or getting akick out from a big (his HD team has NO BIGS).
It's super excited about Redford. I think he can be a scoring machine from day 1.
