yeah, if you believe that BE talent is equal to A-10 talent on a consistent basis. Face it Xs talent has improved dramatically since moving to the BE. Had UD helped X over the years to get into better leagues it might have been good for X to continue to play their brothers from the North, because they could have been natural travel partners, but they chose to jump and leave X behind. Later X helped them get into the A-10 when their league floundered. That is just the administrative side, the personal side is the fans, and the way they treat each other is toxic to the extreme. I have relatives that played sports for UD and they agree that in lower sports the fans are much better together but in basketball, it is too extreme. That doesn't even include the physical and verbal abuse of the X fans and the coach's wife, that was just the straw that broke the camels backAirJordan wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 11:30 amCompletely with you on bringing back U.D. Hate those Mother****ers and that is a key ingredient in any rivalry. Many on this board oppose, ostensibly because of past U.D. transgressions. But, it could be some are just fearful that a renewed rivalry with U.D. might become too competitive.pdxmuskie wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 9:53 pmI am very much in favor of UC rebuilding a strong BB program. I would however like to maintain the current Xavier dominance in the head to head. I would also love to bring back UD into a yearly game as well as OSU.
I don't want to hear how UD fans are terrible, etc. Some XU fans are the same toward other team's fans. It happens everywhere.
I do not want to be OSU where you refuse to schedule a team out of fear. If X doesn't schedule UD, it is out of fear. We don't need to play OSU but consistently winning that matchup is meaningful to much of the state. Most of Ohio assumes OSU is better most years. That is likely not true but can only be proved on the court. Add UD to the schedule and do a media blitz if OSU refuses to play. Make it an Ohio Tournament and add other teams based on prior year results. That doesn't guarantee a matchup with UD, OSU and UC each year but best teams will paly one another.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

To quote Bill Bennett; "Sometimes you need Mother Teresa---sometimes you need Dirty Harry."
When it comes to U.D., I vote for Dirty Harry!
