I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Good comparison size wise. Let’s see how he plays. My reliable inside source claims he was the best player on the team in pre-season practices and scrimmages.muskieman wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 9:00 pmI just hope he is as good as Justin CageJesseandrippers wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 6:04 pmX-lucidity wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 5:57 pmAnd--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- He's Eligible.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's saying alot considering what we've already seen.

Re: NCAA Decision on transfers
for those more in the know, feel free to critique, but I do not believe Ben will resemble the awesome Justin Cage much at all. Justin was a Swiss army knife that could do a bit of everything, but specialized in lock-down D on the opposing teams best scorer, 1 thru 4 positions. Ben is not nearly as quick to be that good of a defender. Although Cage could rebound, he was not a bruiser and relied more on being quick to grab offensive and defensive boards. I believe Ben to have much more of a power game and post-up abilities, even though only 6-6. The common thread will be passion and desire. We shall see, but boy is it fun just being able to discuss this aspect.
* By the way, anyone know if the team is allowed yet to conduct full team practices?

Re: NCAA Decision on transfers
While a few more inches on a post player would be great, he can be very effective at 6-6. First, it is doubtful he will be the only big on the floor so even if he is playing a more traditional center role on offense, he can guard the power forward if that strategically makes sense. He also may be effective guarding post players in short stretches. If he plays more physical and can disrupt any flow the player may have achieved prior to that point. He can probably be a bit more liberal with his fouls.
I will once again agree with muskieman, Carter has been playing well. His shooting isn't great and he has had some bad moments but he has not had a bad game (maybe 1, cant recall for sure). He plays good defense, rebounds well and just gets after it. He is probably taking 1 3 pointer per game too many but he has been a big asset to the team. Griffin is also playing very well and probably deserves more minutes.
