Let’s all keep in mind that unlike many of the other schools involved, X has NOT been accused of giving extra benefits to any potential recruits, former players, or current players. Nor have they been accused of offering payments or extras to any recruits or family and friends of recruits. Nor have they been accused of having any dealings with agents of players or recruits. Xavier, and Chris Mack, have not been accused of any wrong doings.

This MAY change, and I hope to God it does NOT, but so far the only thing that has come out of this in regards to X is that a former player, and/or his Dad, took an illegal “loan” from an agent while he was still a player. It has not been shown that the coaches or administration had ANY knowledge of this happening OR that the coaches or administration where negligent in their instructions to the players about the rules of the NCAA in this regard.

Let us hope that this is all that there is to it.

my son pointed out that payments to Sumner or his family were made after he had been at XAVIER so it was not to secure his commitment to X. So it begs the question, what was it for? Sumner subsequently declares early and signs with ASM. The logical explanation was that he was given money to leave X early and secure his business. Essentially paying him to leave Xavier.

That has been my understanding - occurred ( or if it did occur) while Sumner was already at X. However signing with an agent and receiving money while still a player is a no no.
I remember back in the 70's Howard Porter of Villanova signed a pro contract while still playing college basketball and Nova had their F4 appearance vacated.
That is still a possible if not probable outcome here for these schools mentioned, Including X.

Are these guys are Patrick Brennen equivalent's at the Louisville Courier?
Their presentation seemed rather amateurish.
While if you read the forums on Cardinal Sports, Mack is certainly mentioned but doesn't seem he is the clear cut favorite. There is whole host of desired candidates - Donovan, Stevens, Marshall, Wright, Bobby Hurley and so on.
What was interesting to hear was what the timeline might be for the federal investigation might be - extending into November of this year. And basically telling the NCAA to keep out until they are done.
Padgett may end up being interim for another year.
The only thing for certain is that time will tell.

This has been out there behind the scenes about Miller for quite some time. The documents put out there were lacking. He's a pivotal guy as far as X is concerned. He knows the details. I have not heard any denials out of the Sumner camp, and i would suspect there will not be. My curiosity is the Jordan Crawford and Holloway recruitment. Will be interesting. Guys typically do not fall into your lap, wink, wink.

The reality is this, anywhere Sean has been (if the reports are true) have to have reason for concern. This is basically being investigate(and likely prosecuted) in large part like an organized crime investigation. Bribes, tax evasion, et. al are how they blow all this stuff up. If your caught in that web, and face federal supeona, the stakes are very, very steep. When they have you, they basically dangle your future in front of you in return for a break. They basically want you to start at the beginning and take them through it all. That gives them more and more pieces to gain more and more effectiveness and reach in their investigation and ultmate goal to blow it all up. The FBI is licking their chops as they are used to dealing with criminals where info. is difficult if not impossbile to get(thus this investigative tactic). How would you expect a bunch of coaches to act under questioning. My guess is it's easy pickings. This will be mighty interesting. However, recruitment of bigger recruits is definitely the wheelhouse of their reach.

This is much bigger than programs, bball, suspensions, et. Ncaa is on the sideline. This is way over their pay grade. The big question is how much info. do they already have.

Shaquille O’Neal’s son just decomitted from Arizona. It’s still unclear if they will let him out of the LOI though. He was considered a 4 Star recruit.

I wonder how many others are considering decommitting from their schools?

Interesting thought IF X could somehow get Shaq's kid then we would have the start of some real VIP fans with Shaq and Bill Murray at games . We could have the start of courtside seating at a Lakers' or a Knicks game. Now we need some player whose cousin is either Scarlet Johansson or Gal Gadot...and I would not be opposed to both.

Strange to me that the FBI is investgating the NCAA. They must have needed a confidence builder. Looking for corruption in college athletics? Talk about a layup. Maybe someone’s kid didn’t get recruited. But I’m glad someone finally decided to do something. The hypocracy of the NCAA is staggering. Non-profit entities whose tution has increased steadily at a rate that far out-paces inflation. And basketball is obviously the most profitable endeavor these greedy “folks” have yet to discover. Also interesting that most college atheletes are black, at least the ones who bring in the bucks. How many of these kids would EVER step om campus without their athletic qualifications? But of course when they leave they are “enriched,” like Romain Sato with his degree in French, his native language. That said: GO X!!! I need the diversion deperately...
