Re: Is this a reason for concern?
ESPN just broke the news about a telephone conversation involving Sean Miller in which money was being discussed for an Arizona recruit.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
I would like to see a complete exoneration but I wonder if that will ever happen.
muskieman wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 9:08 pmIf a player or family member gets money from an agent do any of you think that the player goes running to the coach? Unless they brag about it to another player or someone like a girlfriend or friend how will a coach know? I am sure agents that do this probably say lets keep this between you and me. I am sure, unless you are LaValle Ball, fathers are not quick to reveal that they received money. The only way the FBI finds out is the agent's spreadsheet. IF X had any part in this and the statements of Chris are not true then I will be disappointed but I don't believe that Chris or his staff are party to this revelation. I am disappointed in ED but I would like to know the full details before I throw anyone under the bus.
I am sure Chris has talked to his team about hanging out with undesirables but just like a father or mother tells their children sometimes their children think they know better. I hope and pray for the Xavier program that this will pass but proving a negative is hard if not impossible. I would like to see a complete exoneration but I wonder if that will ever happen.
Not possible, but who cares. Rival schools will jump on this, but unless something else comes out proving someone w/in X's organization was involved, their claims are simply a hollow attempt to bring down a program they cannot compete with in the classroom or on the court. Some programs kick out star players for dishonorable, conduct which doesn't even rise to a criminal offense. Others coddle the players and double down on them. I'm glad X is in the camp of the former, despite how pissed off the majority of the board was when DW was shown the door.

Re: Is this a reason for concern?
Let’s all keep in mind that unlike many of the other schools involved, X has NOT been accused of giving extra benefits to any potential recruits, former players, or current players. Nor have they been accused of offering payments or extras to any recruits or family and friends of recruits. Nor have they been accused of having any dealings with agents of players or recruits. Xavier, and Chris Mack, have not been accused of any wrong doings.
This MAY change, and I hope to God it does NOT, but so far the only thing that has come out of this in regards to X is that a former player, and/or his Dad, took an illegal “loan” from an agent while he was still a player. It has not been shown that the coaches or administration had ANY knowledge of this happening OR that the coaches or administration where negligent in their instructions to the players about the rules of the NCAA in this regard.
Let us hope that this is all that there is to it.

This has been out there behind the scenes about Miller for quite some time. The documents put out there were lacking. He's a pivotal guy as far as X is concerned. He knows the details. I have not heard any denials out of the Sumner camp, and i would suspect there will not be. My curiosity is the Jordan Crawford and Holloway recruitment. Will be interesting. Guys typically do not fall into your lap, wink, wink.

Re: Is this a reason for concern?
my son pointed out that payments to Sumner or his family were made after he had been at XAVIER so it was not to secure his commitment to X. So it begs the question, what was it for? Sumner subsequently declares early and signs with ASM. The logical explanation was that he was given money to leave X early and secure his business. Essentially paying him to leave Xavier.kyzrex wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 7:06 amLet’s all keep in mind that unlike many of the other schools involved, X has NOT been accused of giving extra benefits to any potential recruits, former players, or current players. might want to listen to the video because they mention Chris not just in this regard to the latest revelations but Chris as a possible coach for UofL
