I know everyone here is intelligent and knowledgeable when it comes to Xavier basketball so I must be at fault for not placing the proper emphasis on what I had hoped would become a discussion point (and BTW I couldn't care less about millersdad's position on any of this). So let me try again.......if you are the assistant coach on the WVU staff assigned the responsibility of crafting the defensive strategy for the game would you play SB straight up or would you hedge off SB and slide help elsewhere?

I'd probably tell my player to hedge off SB, at which point if I'm Sean Miller, I immediately tell SB to go to the basket and keep doing it until either they play me straight up or I'm neither scoring any baskets nor getting any fouls called.

The stakes are higher in NCAA tournament games than regular season games. I don't think anyone would question that. However, if you don't WIN regular season games then there are no NCAA tournament games. I can come to just about any conclusion about any of the Xavier players by cherry picking what games I want to use to support my argument. I don't think anyone will argue that Burrell has been a beast in the NCAA in terms of scoring points. However, there is so much more that is required on the court that it's narrow minded to focus SOLELY on how many points a person scores.

hopefully this will be the last post on this stupid topic. We all know that Stan is indeed the man. GO X, Stan score 30 tomorrow and just go off. I predicted Stan and Bj would find their shot in the tourney it's time to prove me right with another 16 treys. And while I'm at it that damn VW commercial is going on again where the guy keeps setting off the alarm. Does that annoy anybody else, yeah i know completely off topic but please make it go away

(1) Thanks for keeping things on track, and not any more personal than they have to be.

(2) None of us is arguing that Stan will be confused with Allen Iverson offensively, and, yes, we'd all like to see him drop in a few jumpers. But when looking at his offensive performance, it's just not fair to take out his FT's and his "layups" and only count 15-footers or 3-pointers. Points are points, no matter how you get them. And if Stan can give the team his average (just under 10), we should be OK. Any more than that is gravy, wouldn't you say?

And there's no point in looking at what he did last year in terms of what he'll do this year, any more than Josh is the same player he was last year (clearly he's much better).

Sorry Mr. Neutral but according to Millersdad......... slicing, driving layups in the lane aren't as important as a 15 foot jump shot. Nope, they don't count nearly as much.

11 points in the lane and at the line aren't nearly as good as a few 3's and some jumpers. Millersdad has it figured out. Geez..........

b baker is the clueless one..this is not the topic once again...the topic was how burrell does under pressure in ncaa tournment games....not regular season games....tournemet games are much more intense and different people handle pressure differently which was the whole point of my post...regular season games are irrevelant to this post so why did you mention them.

this is irrevelant also d west. the facts speak for themselves...burrell was 0-16 from the field or shooting 0%during the last 4 tournment games (jump shots)..and he's a shooting guard(aka...one who excells at shooting). Even if you add in the 4 layups he's had that is 4-20 or just shooting 20% from the field...which is also pathetic for a shooting guard. As a matter of fact, I have a retarded neighbor who has never played team ball all of his life and I bet he could hit at least 1 jump shot! I know that some people on this board love Burrell but admit it....Burrell chokes on the offensive end under pressure!!!! There is no if's and's or butt's about it. This statement is backed by fact and I will prove it. Just answer this question with a yes or a no.....Xavier and WVU are tied up tongiht with 10 seconds left in the game. X has the ball. Burrell can either pass the ball to a team mate or shoot the ball himself. Both Burrell and the other teammate are equally open. Do you want Burrell to take the shot...yes or no
