This is a waste of a scholly. He wasn't even that good in the MAC. I don't see how he fits our offensive philosophy. All he's going to do is clog on the lane on offense

Personnally, I don't see this guy playing a single minute in a Xavier uniform. After reading different articles, this guy seems like a big headcase. I don't even think he will get a scholarship from Xavier. I see X trying to recruit a big man from the high school level next year and that guy might even start the 2013 season. Sorry Matt, but you don't fit the Xavier system.

Surprise - I will take the glass half full approach. Sometimes a change of scenery does a world of good. I bet they get him in better shape, bring up his grades, and clean up the attitude.

Thems my thoughts.

He reminds me of that big guy Jeff Salovski (I think his nickname was big deli) who played for umass about 7 or 8 years that was averaging only about 2 and 2 going into the game with us and went on to almost single handedly down us in triple OT with something like 20 and 10. I remember him having a very similar body type as well at 6-10, 320. I think he has some potential barring he can buckle down and lose 15 or 20 pounds before he returns to the hardwood. He may not be the most agile and quick but I think he is an upgrade from that 7-5 Sim Bhullar in many ways...

Biggest coup since we stole Canty from Highpoint's grasp. Odd, odd, pick. Someone showed his stats, which were good, but he plays in a league whose teams are littered with borderline D-2 players.

Hope it works out, but if we thought it was painful watching KF hedge, hold on to your hats.

He scored 12 points in the opening 5 minutes, got subbed out, shoved a teammate on his way to the bench and played 5 minutes the rest of the game as his team lost. Apparently that game was a microcosm of his career at WMU- moments of dominance supplemented with attitude and conditioning problems. Surprised a program as stable as Xavier's would take a chance on such a kid."

Frustrated with CM's recruiting philosophy. The 2nd leading scorer on a bad team in a bad league doesn't have his scholly renewed. This screams red flag even more so than Thomas. Sadly, CM seems to have a "win at all cost" philosophy, as the team continues to pupulate Huggins type players.

We deserve the reputation we have nationally. How much longer before we are known as UNLV East?

I certainly hope that Stainbrook works out, but I tend to agree with A-H that this commitment seems kind of odd. X recruits a bunch of long, athletic guys, and then brings in Lurch 2? Sight unseen, I don't get it.
