Don't know how you do it, but one of you moderators should set this thread up so it is "locked" at the very top like yoiu do with things occasionally.
And yes, my day is indeed going better as a result of this thread.
Don't intend to block those who are more critical than positive, just those who are never positive.

neo,
They are not banning you. But thanks to Neutral's post, anybody who wants is free to ban you personally, or not. I won't for now, but life is too short to bother to listen to someone who is 99% negative and hence has nothing to add. For now, you are not on my list, but accusing somebody of being a Nazi is a pretty good start. That's an insult to anybody who suffered at the hands of the real Nazi's, and I know a few of them. And dropping a MF on people you don't even know is "strike 2"

We have free choice, and that means to listen to you or not to listen to you: your choice. Contribute something useful once in a while, or goodbye (for me). Nobody is all good or all bad (except maybe your Nazi Hitler) so we expect some positives along with the negatives, whether you are talking about Mack, UC, UD, or our cheerleaders!!

P.S. Hope you weren't one of my students. I think I teach them to think better than your diatribe suggests you can.

neo, if you want to block any posters you feel are overly positive to the point you find them irritating, you have that option. Other posters have the option of blocking guys who they find overly negative to the point of being irritating.

What could be more even-handed and fair? Plus, it's one way to avoid vicious, name-calling pissing matches, and I've been in enough of them to know that they never end in a good way.

Yes, the team is struggling, and Mack may or may not be the guy. But, ultimately, how does that affect any of us? Is my cancer going to come back if X doesn't make the NCAA? Will I lose my job if we finish .500? Will all my friends and family turn on me if Lyons and Holloway refuse to share the ball?

No, no and no. So while we all want X to play better, and I yell at the TV as much as anyone, in the scheme of things, it's just a game. Literally, just a game.

Whoa...bringing up sh*t like that gets into a whole other territory. Obvious point and understood. My dad died of cancer for no reason - lung cancer hits a healthy-as-an-ox 70 year old who never smoked and he dies in 5 months? Makes XU basketball seem like a friggin speck in my carpet lint.

But X basketball is the distraction from the crud that tears us down. Do I regret some hostile posts after the fact? Sometimes (wink wink to you Shadow)...but this is a release for all who participate, good or bad. If we get negative, it is because we are TICKED OFF that this coaching staff has let this season go to the CAN!

It's not necessary to spend your MusketeerMadness time reading these rants. Just point and "click." It's fun and anybody can do it! :D

And I love the effort when it is there. I will all call out the great sh*t they do, but when it isn't there, then what?

There is more to criticize than praise. It makes me laugh to see muskienick blindly praise this years team for past years success (coaches and players) and say we can't be critical cuz they made sweet 16s and blah blah blah. I won't feel any better watching them in the NIT. If they prove me wrong, god love em. But base on their performance so far, they won't win out in the A10 and certainly their performance in the past several A10 tourneys doesn't bode well for the auto bid.

Believe me, I get it. When Skip was here, the board (and there was only one) was like a knife fight between supporters and critics, and I was easily the strongest Skip critic, and blasted him regularly.

I look back now and realize that I posted a lot of things I wish I could take back (and that I wish hadn't been said about me and my family members by others), and ultimately, my posts didn't change things, anyway.

But, yes, it's still aggravating.

Pretty sad when you can't bear to even see "irritating" posts. I mean isn't bickering the heart of what goes on here? Sometimes I get the feeling that the accusations about Xavier fans being elitist are on target. Mr. Neutral probly wont see this post as I have taken him to task for intolerance in the past. Gotta go to work, cant respond to responses.

have not heard from you in a while nolife. Stll sitting at the end of the bar with Snipe? I agree with allowing some "irritating" posts in your life because it makes sure you heart is still pumping but even you must admit that there is little tolerance on other boards, if you know what I mean.

Sometimes all we have are dead horses being beaten with the Mack hate, you didn't like the Skip hate, so some posters just don't want to hear it anymore in thread after thread. Mack could turn out to be a Coach Campbell or maybe another coach K, probably most likely somewhere in between, but most schools would take one out of three years for a 1st time head coach.

Say hello to the boys for me and don't forget the trunk full of drinks during the summer league....I have missed them!
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
