I heard Seth Davis say this morning that UMass was still IN, which I thought was kind of surprising.

Mr. Neutral wrote:I hope you're rights, sweens, but I'd be very suprised if the A10 walked away with 3 bids. A LOT of things would have to fall into place for that to happen, including the right teams winning and losing in other conf. tourneys.
I'd be surprised as well since I expect X to win the tourney.

Lunardi currently has Joe's as one of the last teams in and another win over X would certainly put some serious additional polish on their resume.

As for the comments on Dayton, imo they are not even in the discussion. The committee has an easy out with the Flyers. Without Wright they have been a mediocre team at best. Wright isn't coming back therefore the 30th ranked rpi team no longer exists. NIT here comes the Flyers.

"No team has ever been left out with an RPI and SOS both at 30 or better. Dayton was @ 31 and 29 respectively this morning. However, if St. Joes were to manufacture some miracle today and pull off the upset I think they get the second A10 bid, and Dayton possibly becomes part of history."

Actually, Dayton will make history either way. If they DO get a bid, they will be the first team outside of a Big 6 conference to go .500 and finish in 8th place in their league and still get into the Dance.

For this reason, and the fact that they had such a mediocre finish, and the fact that they weren't an NCAA-quality team without Wright, I don't think it's looking good for UD.

If I were a betting man I wouldn't bet on seeing them in the NCAA tourney...maybe NIT.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
