CJ struggles

Postby Brian Fantana » Sat Mar 08, 2008 12:33 pm

Love CJ. This is NOT a rip....but I notice when he struggles, he misses a lot of his shots short. I can't recall the other game, as of late, where he strruggled, but that game and St Joe...he just missed a lot of shots short.

He and Duncan seemed to force a lot of shots against St Joe that turned into blocked shots

I'd say Martelli's 3,4,5's all 6'8' + seemed to alter cj's shot, duncan was turning wrong direction inside again, getting himself pinned under, and... he looked 6' at both ends between stumbles and fumbles....i think X will correct things, but A10 CHAMPIONSHIP must be fought for....

CJ gets fouled practically everytime he goes to the basket. I think the refs get tired of calling it!

There were some good blocks against St. Joe's, but a lot of arm slaps.

totally follow your lead as i posted before: unoticed fowls inside, the refs didn't want to spoil "the party!". but other weak inside moves resulted in turnovers. after watching the recording again it confirmed, sju's bigs made some multiple pivot/head shoulder fakes/ that would be considered a  'travel' :!: in the ncaa 99.9% of the time Party In Progress........and now on to Richmond.........

I wanted to comment on CJ and the blocked shots so I'm glad this we brought up.

First, I think the book is out on CJ. A10 teams know he doesn't take outside shots so they just sit back and wait for him to drive. If CJ were to develop an outside shot he would be UNSTOPPABLE.

In addition, what is with our guys getting blocked SO much?!? Josh especially. It's ridiculous! X probably is averaging getting 5 shots blocked at game. If those turn into drawn fouls we would be MUCH more successful.

I hope Sean sees this and does something about it.

too much inside finesse from 6'9, get back to duncan the ball, josh made wrong decisions @ both ends
