non game comments

I really like the pre game on the score board, especially the burning X and the players in the hallway getting set to come on court.

I really like the team introductions.

I don't care much for cheer leaders using microphones to lead the cheers. Spelling out XAVIER with bodies is "cute" but it doesn't excite the crowd. In fact it subdues the crowd and I am glad we don't use it at the end of games anymore, especially close ones. (By the way if the crowd isn't "into" (read loud) a particular cheer, they probably don't like it that much. Maybe we should try a different cheer that works better.)

Inside two minutes of the end of the game the crowd was really loud and chanting. It went on for a full minute, but was interupted by an announcement to bring can goods to the next game. This is the type of announcement to make at the beginning of a game not when the crowd is feverish at the end. At least let the crowd be noisy for as long as they feel like yelling.

100% agree with everything you just said. I remember being at a Crosstown Shootout at uc about 5-6 years ago and the stupid announcer going "boom" every time uc hit a 3. To top that off, during timeouts, some male cheerleader would get a microphone and come out and start chanting "let's go cats." I could not stand that at all, and now we do it at Cintas.

The first few years of Cintas after the first 8 games or so, the crowd was pretty good. We need to get back to how things were at the Gardens. The band playing the fight song when it mattered and playing good songs to work the crowd into a frenzy. I am tired of hearing the stupid corporate sponsorship crap about bringing in canned goods the end of the game like today.

There is nothing wrong with that, but make that announcement at halftime, or early in the game, not at the end. Also play better music to get the crowd worked up. The sponsorships are very annoying. I never remember it being nearly that bad at the Gardens, but we also did not have as many sponsors without the luxury boxes.

agree (speaking of the intro) 1 game they had rotating X logo's lighting the floor. i thought that was unique and would stay but hasn't been used again. scoreboard highlights are good of great moments in X history
