Sorry to see yet another otherwise successful Lady Muskies end with a disappointing NCAA loss. Hate to say it, but McGuff just doesn't seem to get it done in the postseason, or hasn't yet. X went 24-72 tonight, which seems to be a common thread to our postseason losses--poor shooting.
As Cubs' fans always end up saying, wait 'til next year.

The sad thing is a #5 plays in the home of a #12, clear across the country.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Not sure...does X need a big name /experienced coach within the NCAA women's program to move this program to the next level???meaning a run in the NCAA tournament? It would appear the talent is at X but they are not getting it done in the NCAAs. i know a coach can only do so much....meaning the coach was not the one playing on the court and missing tons of shots. But were they prepared properly to take the right shots and play defense? Just getting to the Dance is great but it is not enough ,when you lose the first game in the Dance.

How about the Cintas beingavailable for the Xavier women's team to play at home like a #5 vs #12. Why does X have to travel 2000 miles to play when they are the better seed? High school boys basketball should take aback seat for thatgame.

What a dissappointment! sorry way to end a great season.
I hope next year when X hosts the tourney first round, we will be better prepared and able to make a deeper run.
Same situation the last 3 years, poor shooting, lax defense. I think McGuff needs a different approach to game prep and to be willing during the game to mix it up when the same old same old doesn't work.

High School Boys games (Regionals) bring larger crowds than a first round Women's tournament game.muskieman wrote:How about the Cintas beingavailable for the Xavier women's team to play at home like a #5 vs #12.
