If you were to pick the top 8 players since 1987 to now on XU to start your team 5 starters and 3 bench who would you pick. Here are mine:
starters:
jumpin jamal give me the ball walker point guard- the most exciting and quickest player in XU history
Byron Larkin - shooting guard - best shooter and highest scorer in XU History.
Romain Sato - forward - one of Xugreatest rebounder, scorer, shooter with great hops and athletisism
David West - power forward - XU'S greatest inside scorer, heart of lion, current nba allstar
Tyrone HILL - Center - Xu all time center, and leading rebounder. nba player
Bench:
Drew Lavender - quick, great passer and dribbler
James Posey - entertaining, great scorer, rebounder, heart
Darnell Williams - great scorer, cutter, jump hop
Can anyone pick a better 8?

I agree with all of the comments - X has had some major players in our history. Aaron Williams, anyone?

Bryan Grant is a must on the eight. I would start up.

I would agree with all of your picks except as much as I like Sato I would replace him with Brian Grant. I don't think Sato is top 8.BrianXU wrote:I will agree on most of your picks, here would be my top 8

Hard to say about A-Train. He had a fairly undistinguished first two years, and really blossomed at the end of his senior year. I think his college career looks better in retrospect because of his long NBA career.

Re: Top 8 of all time!
I have to think that anyone who didn't pick Posey in their starting five isn't old enough to have seen how great he was.
Also, why oh why isn't Brian Grant's number retired? He didn't have a running mate like D. Strong and still put up monster numbers.
1 - Chalmers - Just based on getting us to final 8
2 - Larkin
3 - Posey
4 - West
5 - Grant
Subs
Hill
Lenny Brown - just for hitting the shot
Justin Cage

I llike Hill starting and Posey as a sixth man. after all he is the classic 6th man.
