Only real problem I have with that is the statement that the 18-22 year olds are busting there A$$ to “entertain us”, like entertaining us is their purpose. It’s not. Entertaining the fans is not something that THEY should be concerned with in the slightest. Their purposes should be to try and win every game they play, and to make sure that no matter what the outcome that they gave 100% of their efforts toward preparing and competing to win the games they play. X might not beat Marquette in this game, but I expect them to try their best to do so, and I expect to hear from the coach afterwards that they practiced hard and prepared as best they could to win the game. I don’t think that we can ask for anything more, or anything less, than that from the players and coaches.
i didn't say it was "their" purpose. that's what it does for US. Xavier basketball is an "outlet" for us as fans and alumni. it's something we do to support the program/school that we went to. i'm not saying that's why THEY play or that they play for that purpose. but in the end, for US, it's entertainment - an outlet for us and a way for us to put our energy into something that we love. that's all i meant. of course, the boys play hard because they want to WIN. i agree with all you said in regards to that.

LET'S GO X!
Ok, sorry I misunderstood your point. Completely agree….entertainment for US. More than that for them.

Sources say Claude might not play this evening. The February curse continues
He is sick. Craft out 3-4 weeks after injuring his knee in practice. Tandy is the only backup guard.

Another nail biter tonight. As a former HS coach and the father of a college coach I think I know a little about this game, but I am beginning to agree with many on this board regarding Sean's refusal to change defenses from time to time. Miller has forgotten more than I know but it is obvious we cannot defend man to man for 40 minutes. Mack was successful with a 1-3-1 just to switch things up at certain points in the game. I love man to man but against a team like Marquette and probably the best pure point in the league I am afraid we are in for a long night. Go X!

Des and Kam are both out because of injuries. See my thread on Des and Kam
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

How in the heck at this time of the year do you get hurt in practice? That is 3 guys now. Are they practicing that hard? If so why. We are in for big trouble.

Very good half defensively. Three point shooting is killing us.( 2-12 ). Nunge and Hunter were invisible. Boum was slow on both ends again. I think we are tired and that is resulting in no legs and missing all the 3 point shots. No foul trouble yet. My man Edwards looked pretty good. Kunkel was getting his hands on all kind of balls. Got to ride Jones .Go X.

It is anybody's game here. X needs to finish this game. Edwards played decent, maybe it is because of the new hairdo if so cut it shorter and become a star. they start to click. For the best offense in the BE Marquette came out shooting and missing. Hey, hope they (MU) continue to throw the ball to Kunkel. Wish they could have knocked MU out in the first but they were bound to start making baskets.

I hope X can find the three-point shot in the second half because MU seems to be coming on and it is only time before MU starts their scoring machine

IT IS ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE HEART POUNDING GAMES

Could the striped clowns known as referees be any worse?
