From Stanford:

Cohen has helped mentor several all-conference players. Primarily working with Stanford’s perimeter players, he has made a strong impact on the group. Freshman point guard Daejon Davis earned a spot on the Pac-12’s five-member All-Freshman Team – Stanford’s first member in six seasons. Senior Dorian Pickens was an all-conference selection for his performance on the court and was voted the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year for his efforts in the classroom in 2018.

Cohen has a proven track record in developing point guards. Under Cohen’s tutelage, Max Guercy became the all-time assist leader at Rice, Siyani Chambers developed into a First Team All-Ivy League selection at Harvard, Wade Baldwin IV was an NBA first round draft pick from Vanderbilt, and Daejon Davis set the program’s freshman assist record and was an Pac-12 All-Freshman Team selection at Stanford. Along with Baldwin (Blazers), Cohen's roster of current NBA players he has helped develop also includes Luke Kornet (Knicks) and Damian Jones (Warriors).
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

This seems to be a HUGE "'get" for us. Coach Cohen comes with numerous plaudits and tons of experience and a proven track record. Seems Sean's plea to the AD to expand the budget for the staff has paid off in spades. My only initial reaction is if he specializes in perimeter players and the PG position that is also Sean's bread & butter. Plus Dante was a wing. Hopefully the next hire will excel in developing post talent.
That said this is fantastic and WELCOME Coach Cohen!!

this seems a like a great get by Sean. who cares if they both "specialize" in perimeter/point guards. love that he's been in multiple places with a lot of different great coaches. that means he's been able to learn from many different people and that's a good thing.

now go find a "big guy" coach and we are ready to roll.

Sean Miller hires San Jose State's David Miller as his final addition to his staff. Big international ties and worked for Miller at Arizona.

so, assts are Cohen, Miller, and Dante.

Hopefully Sean finds a place for Mario, who has stayed with the program thru at least three coaches. Sean did bring someone with him from Arizona in a similar position, though. I would think Christopher could find a place for him in the athletic department. From what I recall, Mario, turned down Arizona when Sean left. Hope he stays.
