Gutsy win. Nice job in 2nd half by Paul and Free. Kudos to them as we needed each and every point. As much as many of us critique Zach, he played with energy and courage tonight as did Paul. I too believe Hunter should be getting just a few more of Zach's minutes but we ain't the coach. Dwon and Jack were excellent again this game. All in all a very hard game to analyze honestly. Both teams did enough to win, and both did enough to lose it - just glad we nailed down a much needed "W" versus a top tier opponent. Officiating just plain sucked and the bad calls might have ultimately evened out. I don't care if you call a game tight or are letting the boys play a bit, but for God's sake, be consistent - which they were not..! We proved tonight that we can win a rock fight although I am still very concerned about our offense overall. The calendar is running out of days quickly so this almost felt like a must win. Exciting game, thrilling and intense final 6 minutes. Could this catapult us into a higher gear....?

If you follow college bb long enough you definitely see the roller coaster ride most teams endure. Coaching must be hell on the nerves. Mine are shot watching X! Last night was amazing .....I kept hearing announcers saying we have the talent to go deep in March. I thought those jokers lost cred!! Let's pray we continue on this effort. The teams in the BE are so evenly matched its incredible.

The announcers showed their East Coast bias for most ost the game singing the praises of UConn. Until it became apparent that Xavier had talent & could actually win. Then they changed their tune.
The BE is very balanced. The Muskies will probably split their remaining 6 games & have a 20-10 record going into the BE tournament. That will determine if we go to the NCAA.
Injuries may be a factor. This season is certainly a roller coaster ride.

If we split the remaining games on the schedule (and do not lose to Georgetown at home), then the BE tourney is only about seeding. Although... I would like to win the tournament.
Let's March!

maybe it was because it was a Friday night game but i'm always amazed at how much LESS activity/comments there are on a game thread when we WIN than when we lose.

interesting.

nice win, boys. let's get another one Wednesday.

talk has been that he has been progressing. He has been medically okayed but his athleticism has not been where it was before the injury. Maybe winning the gold means he is about ready and with Edwards and Ben can make X that much more physical in the stretch run and Tourney. I'd like to see Ben at pre-injury performance
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I think it is more a product of what is expected/should happen. Despite the slide recently, the good win Friday was expected. Even Vegas indicated that. Now if X beats Nova or Steele makes more than 3 adjustments in the game, the board would explode. I should know, b/c tracking the number of posts per poster and topic is under my charge as Jr-Sr moderator.

Exciting, exciting news. Coach said this is a huge predictor of PT, so I expect BS to get 17-20 minutes next. Edwards was the most consistent practice player for two straight weeks ago according to Steele, and was forced into action after Free did his "Mike The Situation" imitation against SH, and was booted. Otherwise, he would have been glued to the chair. The, he followed up with a full 70 seconds ag UConn when Coach was shamed into playing him by the student body. I just hope he doesn't get discouraged and transfers. I'm not sure what else he needs to do to earn PT.
