Re: Norwood YMCA Job
so we have another fan jumping ship. Nova is a top 20 team and X had a bad half. I suppose you might ride with AH in his doom and glum truck tonight.Sonoma Muskie wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 10:50 pmDon’t believe the rumor that Travis Steele is the front runner for the Norwood YMCA Job!
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

When the patient is bleeding profusely from the wrist any fool knows you apply a tourniquet immediately before he bleeds to death. Don’t wait for a clot form. It is not going to happen. He will be dead before you know it. Damn it, boy. Just stop the bleeding.
Get the ball to the inside. Stop attempting 3’s!!!!

only player that had some success in going inside was Odom. Throwing the ball inside certainly didn't work because when they threw it from the wing there was an immediate double to triple-team.

Re: Norwood YMCA Job
How about dribble drive penetration then kick out pass to open teammate???
If that is so enlightening coming from a bb ignoramus like me, maybe Steele can get some more & better suggestions from his leutinents or one of his mentors

might want to see how guys driving last night were swallowed up when they got inside, only person with SOME luck was Odom. TS has stressed getting the ball inside but talking doesn't get it done the players have to keep trying but when you get inside and the foul goes against you then you fall into the trap of doing the thing that doesn't work. X tried the use the ball screen and Nunge got called for an illegal screen, Nate tried and was called for an O foul twice, and Paul couldn't touch anyone without a foul called.Sonoma Muskie wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 2:18 pmHow about dribble drive penetration then kick out pass to open teammate???

Just like Nova when the threes are falling they win and when they don't they lose... look around college basketball and see the teams that fans are saying the same things. Made baskets are always the key to success.

Muskieman. Don’t overemphasize that “made baskets”. It’s overrated. Some people are going so far as to say it is the primary object of the game.
Or could we venture so far as to say maneuver closer to the basket to get shorter & easier shots? We know it sounds crazy, but some people are actually promoting the concept. Probably just a transitory fade.

Re: Norwood YMCA Job
Xavier wilted under pressure again under Steele against a top notch team. Being in control and then allowing Nova to be you by 20 in the second half is ridiculous. How about going to 0-17 from 3 even though Nova had tightned up their perimeter defense. Maybe we should have thrown some lobs down in the post? Thats right we did about four times with no avail. This was a great opportunity with our most veteran team to beat Nova, but we didn't make adjustments. Glad Travis saved his timeouts. He should played defefensive POY candidate Miles more.
