X vs Butler Game thread 1/30/2021

Good ball movement and finding open shooter. I like Tandy alot and he is so talented as a scorer but he doesn't seem to fit with this team this year. Just my observation, but he appears to be too worried about trying to score every time he is in and forcing alot of shots?

Agree with above. I too like Tandy and he needs more minutes to get into the flow of the game. But, don't know who I'd put on the bench to give him those minutes. ZFree forced some shots in first half. I think Steele stressing the offense "runs through Freemantle" is perhaps the wrong message. Of course, I don't know but my sense is that, to ZFree, it means he needs to score instead of allowing the opportunities to come to him. There are plenty of other shooters on the floor with him. I groaned when I saw that Kunkel was starting but he showed me I'm a nob head.

Great perimeter play, but we have to get more out of Carter and Freemantel. We really don't need Carter, Free, or Odom shooting 3's.

I'd like to see Zach and Carter rebound like they were points. X needs some inside work as Kunkel starts the 2nd half with a deep 3

Give up 11 and so what shot do they take... a Freemantle three with no one under the basket then Butler makes is a 13 point run. You have to be kidding me.

none have worked until Scruggs comes back in. Freemantle still floating outside so no rebounds from him on the O side

He could miss 5 more and get abused on the inside, but Steele won't pull him (see: Goodin, Q). His game management is brutal to watch.
