Re: Toledo game thread
Carter is the new Goodin when it comes to threes. Steele won’t rein him in.

hard-fought game and a win for X. TU can shoot the three will keep them in many games. Jackson was conscience for TU at the end with the threes.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Odom impressed me with tough drives and good D. Reminded me a little of TU when he took the ball strong to the rim. Tandy and Odom work well together and Tandy is just a born scorer

Re: Toledo game thread
Good strategy by Steele to leave KyKy in virtually the whole game, and play small ball the latter part of the 2nd half. I'm a fan of Carter, but when he chucks up 4 threes going 1-4 (with the one he made being a very fortuitous bounce), he's a liability. He should limit his treys to last second shots and when X is up by 20. X is a good three point shooting team when the right guys shoot them. Free was 0-4 from 3 but that is an anomaly.
I like Johnson a lot, but he has played too much hero ball the last couple of games. Good defender, good shooter, but he forces shots. Odom is not a good outside shooter at this point in his career, and should limit his shots to ones around the rim. Great pg (7A, 1 TO) and very good defender. Love what I've seen from him. Both Toledo and Bradley are high quality mid-majors, and both will be near the top of the leagues.
X has 16 assists and only 7 T.O.s with much better ball movement. Tandy played about 33 minutes. Both Scruggs (also 7 A, 1 TO) and Tandy carried X today. Steele also called a T.O. with 1:15 and the lead, and they scored. It's almost as if he read a poster's comments from yesterday. You're welcome coach.

As usual, my mentor nailed it. TU was a great defender, but lacked Odom's athleticism. Tu was a better offensive player, but believe Odom will improve in this area, and will leave as one of the top 2 pgs in X's history.

Re: Toledo game thread
also, X had 11 steals v that 7 TOs As for the TU comparison I was comparing early TU with early Odom... only fair way to compare. TU strong suit erly was going to the rimAnti-Homer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 2:26 pmGood strategy by Steele to leave KyKy in virtually the whole game, and play small ball the latter part of the 2nd half. Re: Toledo game thread
Since they changed Zach’s T why didn’t they take off the point from the FT? Was nice to see a play work after a timeout for once. Thank you Scruggs and Tandy for the win as well as Odom. I haven’t seen anyone get T’d on a backboard slap since I was in a Y league 15 years ago. Steele needs to play the other bigs a bit more although I’m sure he loves Carter’s offensive prowess?

X and Zach were fortunate. Maybe one of the fine religious Brothers at Bergen Catholic will remind Zach of proper court decorum.Anti-Homer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 1:38 pmChitown,
Zac hit the backboard on a dunk, but his 4th foul via a T was changed to a team foul.
At work today and my wife was going to DVR the game to watch tonight. Obviously that is now impossible, with FS1 pulling the plug on broadcasting the contest. Listened a bit to Joe and Byron so this thread fills in for the parts I did not hear.

I was in the car for most of the game and INTENTIONALLY listened to another station because I was recording the game at home. Just got home, popped a cork and poured a glass... only to watch the ass ends of a bunch of horses! (I sure am glad they won and it’s not raining.)

From what I heard, it may have been safer that you did not tune in while drivingAlpalpa wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 4:15 pmI was in the car for most of the game and INTENTIONALLY listened to another station because I was recording the game at home.
