Sorry MM--but let's not forget Cooper and Williams (crazy man) on that team! Should have won the National Championship that year!
But on a serious note it is a total travesty that Steve isn't on the wall retired--and I realize it's been worn since--eg Sato , but I don't know what X 's problem is--but no one deserves it more than Steve.

Bryan was as good as he wanted to play that night. Before he died Coach Ruberg often said that if he had to do it over again, he would have started Tom Freppon instead of Bryan.
BTW, how many folks knew that Joe McNeil lost an eye as freshman and still played the point?

I do recall he had sight in only one eye. Did not know that he had lost the sight in his freshman year. Believe he went to high school at Cincinnati's own Western Hills. To play the point as he did under those conditions is pretty cool. I recall that he as a scrappy player and effective guard.
