Q injured

Dislocated shoulder last week and is in a sling, He is dealing with soreness and is day-to-day. Coaches not rushing him back.
BTW Kaiser Gates is looking for a job after being waived by the Bulls. Shame he is not with the Muskies.

Hopefully Q won't miss any games. Sounds like he should be good if day to day.

I don't think anyone is surprised on Gates. Either got real bad advice or he just didn't want to be here anymore. I would think he could make money overseas but yes, would be great to have him on X. However, I really don't think his game would have improved to the point of getting a different look by the NBA.

I'm not even sure Gates can play overseas. Maybe he was simply underutilized at X and is capable of so much more that what he did at X. That is definitely possible given that the HC was mediocre and not great at developing talent beyond a few players each year. Plenty of X players didn't develop as I would have expected during the CM years but I didn't see much potential in Gates so I'm not sure this is a coaching issue. He was a solid defender and a good shooter. He rebounded reasonably well but his athleticism wasn't special and didn't show the ability to create his own shot. Big men in Europe tend to be good shooters and have the ability to put the ball on the floor. I doubt Gates is an upgrade in that market but possibly another continent.

I would prefer him to still be playing for X. His shooting was definitely an asset at times.
