Probably because the last time down the court he had a open 3 but tried to dribble it into the lane and slipped. He seemed to not want to shoot the three as he only took 3 shots.xu koop scoop wrote: ↑Sun Mar 18, 2018 11:25 pmMissed way too many Fts. Bluiett sucked in about every way possible. Several questionable fouls against Macura. Team played with a lot of
heart & overall D was good. Why did we foul, down 1, with 8 left on the shot clock & about 20+ on the game clock. The timeout discussion probably said don't foul. Maybe it was the Cincinnati jinx which I experienced in the late 90s at Pontiac Stadium where UC lost to Iowa St & XU lost to UCLA in back to back games. Last years team barely made the Tourney and without a BE Tourney win vs Butler, we probably don't make it. We all know that very mediocre team gets to the Elite 8. The play to Kanter at the end was a reasonable call, but if ever there was a time to call Bluiett's number...

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

XU led by 12 with 10:42 left o, FSU outscore them 31-14 the rest of the way. Bluiett was 2-for-8 from the field with 8 points and 5 turnovers. FSU scored 18 points off of 18 XU turnovers.

This was the Wisconsin game all over again just without the Heartbreak of a game-ending shot. Foul shooting killed us. All year we were great at the foul line and it abandon us in these last two games really. FSU did a great job of shutting down Treyvon. If he doesn't get open looks he can't create his own shot. Just so heartbreaking and disappointing. Love the senior class and really hoped they would take us to the Final Four. I just have to wonder if we will ever get there

What was up with our last possession to? Walking the ball up the court and absolutely no sense of urgency

Have had several phone calls already talking about the game with fellow X fans. As I told them I’m not surprised by the outcome, we saw this pattern all year. It would be different if this was the first time we blew leads but really that is the story of our whole season. X was fortunate for most of the season that the ball usually bounced our way. Unfortunately you can’t label this a great year. If you are a number one seed the second weekend should be a given. Looking at the team in the first half when Tre, JP & Kanter we’re out doesn’t give me a lot of hope for next year. That group was ugly. All that being said I’ll still be back at Cintas rooting hard for the X-Men. Even in frustration they deserve my support.

Was a great, but frustrating year. Was hard to watch this team play defense. Against anybody. Home or away. Not sure it's not having the horses to play lock down D on the penetrator, a bad philosophy on the defensive side of the ball or both. No lead was safe. There are some pretty quick guards in this tournament that are not on top 25 teams. How come Xavier can't get one? I got real tired of watching Martin or Baldwin or Brunson or Ponds or Howard or Powell or Foster or Carrington or even that little ***** last night take the ball to the rack time after time with little resistance and virtually no help. Game after game teams had 20 at the 10:00 mark and 40 at the half. I think we would have had the same record had we played zone defense every night for 40 minutes (not that 1-3-1 thing). Get somebody on the staff who can teach defense. Fundamentally. Footwork.
IQ. I felt from an earlier post I made that this seed was going to kill us with the potential 8's and 9's. And it did. Down the stretch we got beat by a quicker more athletic team who scored about 18 points on 18 turnovers. Turn out the lights in the gym. See you next year.

Seen this movie before in person blowing late leads in St. Louis & now in Nashville. Long painfull ride back to Michigan. Hopefully we can get another special player like J.P. but I doubt it. Really hurts seeing him foul out on questionable calls. Gave it all in his last games with stitches and a black eye. Shout out to Kanter also for a great effort in this game & all season. Feel bad for Bluiett & O’mara for not playing better in their last game but pretty sure they feel worse. Good luck to all (4) seniors who gave us many great moments. This one is going to sting for a while.

Ditto thought JP was going to carry us on his back the way he played in this tournament, but fouled out on a questionable call. All 3 seniors are going to be missed!Michigan Musketeer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 19, 2018 3:08 amSeen this movie before in person blowing late leads in St. Louis & now in Nashville. Next year will be rough. We have some very talented players returning but it's going to take time to gell. But a season like this can only help recruiting,Of course it all depends on the coach coming back.

I don’t think next year will be so bad. Lots of growing and improvement needed on defense and a lot to make up for on offense but, lots of talent coming back. Scruggs and Marshall can score and if Goodin improves as much as he did between last year and this year X is in good shape at point. Gates and Jones will be able to handle the inside. I think X may need a bigger inside presence but, hopefully it can be addressed with transfers.
