8 of the 16 seeds to be vacated this year per corruption trial?

Some of the latest articles are claiming that up to 8 of the 16 teams currently in the top 16 seeds may have this year vacated due to the Federal Govts. corruption case regarding NCAA mens college basketball.

I don’t think that is “exactly” correct. What I read was that the information contained in the federal investigation (which by the way has not been made public yet) could lead the NCAA to impose restrictions and sanctions upon 8 out of 16 of the seeded schools....pure speculation by the writer at this time. The federal government is not expected to indict any more individuals at this time. Only the NCAA can impose any sanctions on the schools/coaches/players in regards to its competitions. Evidently there is A LOT of documentation and reports that the federal investigations have accumulated. But nobody other than the federal investigators and the people they have shared those reports with actually know everything that they contain.

It is going to be interesting that is for sure!

Based on the recruits that X has gotten over the last 10 years, and the lack of 5* and/or McD All-Americans that X has gotten, I’m not real worried about how this will directly effect X.

But there are certainly some people with Xavier connections that are probably worried.

Of the top 60 programs my wild guess is that you might find something wrong with about 40 to 50 of those programs. Because the rules are so many , it is easy to violate the rules. And assistant coaches wanna be head coaches. So they might push the envelope to get to the top. When coaches are making $1 million to $10 million plus a year....moving up the food chain becomes tempting. Football or basketball the monies say follow the money...you usually find corruption.

Agree but methinks that % is quite a bit higher for Mr. Miller in Tucson.
