So XU has a 1.5 game edge and winning Saturday would go a long way for XU winning the BE regular season title. But here's a question......
What if X loses on Saturday, then both win out their remaining games. Is there a co-championship or would Villanova be champs based on head to head? Neither team is guaranteed to win out. We have a tough road game with GT and finish on the road at DePaul with Providence in between. Nova has road games vs Seton Hall and Creighton and also have DePaul and GT, but both at home. Anything can happen. Just curious if there is a tiebreaker system or co champs when there is a tie.

Re: Big East Title
According to Larkin there would be co champs if they both have the same record. How the tourney brackets for the BE would be determined he did not comment on last night.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Re: Big East Title
Co-Champs if all that happens... Nova would get #1 seed based on head to head record... Dan

Beat Nova Sat & we have 2.5 game lead. If we finish co-champ & they sweep us, I don't consider that a Championship at all, regardless of what the Media calls it. Tomorrow is a statement game bigger than any regular season statement game I have seen in our history.

really won't matter what you "consider it to be". there will still be a banner hung. i don't care if it's co-champs or not. we haven't had one since we joined. be nice to get one.xu koop scoop wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 9:16 amBeat Nova Sat & we have 2.5 game lead. Today's announcers contradicted Byron, saying that in the case of identical records, head-to-head determines champion.

I also do not care what the league rules are. Losing both head to head games against the other team says you are their b****. Take the technical victory if you want but realize the rest of the country sees you as less than.

Nova still has two tough road games and I think they’ll lose one. But I’m not expecting X to win out either. A win Wed at GT would be huge.

Re: Big East Title
has anyone confirmed one way or the other how this goes if Nova and X win out?
co-regular season champs or Nova wins it because of beating X twice?
just making sure.

The game announcers Wednesday mentioned that, with the same overall records, they will be co-champions.longliveskip wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 7:41 amhas anyone confirmed one way or the other how this goes if Nova and X win out?
