Xavier a 1 seed in the West

it's fun to look at these "bracketologies" now, but the truth is, X has about a 5% chance of getting a #1 seed at this point.

almost would have to win out (not saying that we can't) with one loss being to Nova and we can't get our doors blown off again. any other loss in the league takes us out of that #1 seed line.

it's that simple.

Some of you nitpickers on this site are laughable. In the sport of basketball, when someone states a certain team is "hot" it is understood that term means over the most recent spate of games. Now then Shadow, (whom I generally respect on this board), had I said Butler is having a tremendous season - then it would have been apropos to list the entire month of Jan. Or roughly half of their entire league schedule. By "hot" I am referring to their last two weeks in which Butler has really been scoring the ball well and playing better D. Oh, and Mumuskie, might you check out how X fared against those very same so-called Big East bottom feeders. Hey, I am as big a fan as both of you, but we are hitting the Bulldogs at a time where they are clicking. Hopefully X is ready to put forth one of their more cohesive efforts tomorrow evening. For if not those in Vegas laying that paltry 3 points will be sitting pretty...

Well if Butler spanks X, you can do a "I told you so".
I can see what Butler's last 3 games from a margin of victory were - all 20 points.
But they are still bottom feeders, well at least of 2 of the 3 games. And Marquette is fading fast.
X's games against DePaul and SJU were much closer but they won which is all that matters.
Ponds had a horrible game against Butler as did Rowsey.
Was it Butler's D or just a bad shooting or just bad match-ups.?
Butler has a solid team but their record against top 50 RPI is 2-6 compared to X's 4-3
And their Adjusted scoring margin is 14.0 vs. X's 16.2.
