The best path would be to end up placed as either a one or a two seed in one of the four NCAA regions, since a two seed is just about the same path (degree of difficulty schedule wise) to the final four as a one seed from any region.
Right now X is nicely placed to achieve that goal!
How to remain there? It is not an easy path, but doable. Being realistic, the Muskies must come out of the next two road games with Butler (rip 25) and Creighton (rip 23) with one win.
Must hold serve at home with a win vs Seton Hall.
X has knocked off a #1 Villanova at Cintas before, but they are so dominant this season that remains a tall task. Probably have to call that an "L".
But a number two regional seed could happen by gutting out tough wins at Georgetown in DC, at home against Providence (rip 27) and closing out with a win in Chicago over lowly DePaul. Overall record of 26-5 should do it!

Nova, missing two key players out with injuries, lost last night to Saint John's.

Oh, and Purdue lost last night to "The" Ohio State Buckeyes!
The "final cause" is the first cause in the order of causes.

I can’t remember the last time I ever rooted for OSU before last night. Down double digits in the second half and came back to stun Purdue. I’ll still take Mack over Painter any day.

I think we go 4-2 we are good for at least a 2 seed even with an ealy loss in the Big East Tournament.

Full disclosure: Yes it is sad to reply to your own post to keep it active. GUILTY!
But I gotta say, it is NOT time to panic as some on the board are doing!!! A loss to Villanova isn't a signal that all is lost!!!
X is still ranked #4 in both polls!!!
If you run into a buzzsaw of a team that is hitting every off balance, hand in your face "three" they try, you will likely lose that game. That trend can easily swing both ways!
It was a distinct possibility that the Villanova game would be in the loss column, but that loss was more than offset by sweeping Butler, Creighton, and Seton Hall!
Now just steal a win in DC over Georgetown, beat Providence on Senior Day, and close out against with a win at DePaul and a #1 regional seed is still in play! The record in post season conference play can generally only help you and not hurt you. So on to the Final Four!
