Who will be the starter at the end of the year.? They have played equal minutes and Scruggs leads in most statistical categories. Except Q has 13 assists to 6 for Scruggs. Q has 6 to’s to 0 for Scruggs. Neither are great shooters but I think Scruggs may be better. They will both get a lot of time and against Rider both played at the same time some. Glad we have them both.

With the poise and efficiency he played with after ES went gown, it is Q's to lose. That being said as I said in a previous post, I think he will see a lot of time. They only have two guys who can take it baseline to baseline when pressed, and are so good offensively in the half court, teams will press more to shorten the clock and make them start their offensive sets higher. I think Scruggs plays 16-22 minutes a game on average.

Scruggs is a bit ball hoggish but that has more to do with being a freshman who was the deal in HS. But when he plays unselfishly he shows some very impressive skills. I too like having them both.

I wouldn't expect a change to the starting line-up unless Q has turnover issues on a regular basis. 3 per game is a bit high for me but common wisdom (incorrect in my view) is that a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio is acceptable. That ratio is likely to keep him in the starting job. More likely Q gets pulled anytime he struggles and Scruggs can earn extended minutes when he is playing at a high level.

Generally the guy taking care of the ball and finding open teammates will get the bulk of the minutes given that the team doesn't seem to have trouble scoring. That theory will be tested on Thursday.

Has Scruggs actually played against anyone? I mean Morehead and Rider are certainly no Villanova or Arizona, are they? So why don’t we wait and see just how well the young man does against some real competition before we make him out as the next coming? He MAY end up as Xavier’s next All-American someday, but right now he is a freshman that has played exactly two games against what has to be considered sub-par opponents.

This actually could be the most important issue for the team this year. To me, how well the point guard plays on this team will determine just how great we will be this year.
Sadly, I rate both guards overall performance so far as being less than great. They are both talented and it is early so we can hope for improvement, but Wisconsin will be a test for them to perform better. Hope so

X will be fine at the point. Both players are talented and Q showed us what he was made of last year. Scruggs will come alone as the game slows down for him. Patience is a virtue which we all need to practice.

We saw Goodin last year and he appears to have increased greatly this year. Scurggs is young and probably a little more talented but right now Goodin has done better for X. BTW for those at MM, Goodin outplayed him while they were guarding each other. Bottom line, great problem to have. I just hope Scruggs remains patient
