MOR, Frank Wood built himself a nice empire from that little show on his father's FM classics station. I was oblivious until I brought a little group into town for a week of concerts, Jim and Jean. They played the Muskie grill, at OLA, a concert in the Theatre, and somehow booked themselves to sit in for a jazz set at Mahogany Hall in Mt. Adams. We ran into Woods there, and he had them live on his show. I went along, and he was an astute hipster from the beginning.

Yes he did Carlos. Pretty astute is right. Of course, his father, Frank Wood Sr. owned the station and after Frank Jr. convinced him to change formats, Frank Sr. insisted that he still be able to host a classical music show on WEBN on Sunday mornings. They then formed JACOR Communications that grew like hell and got bought out by Clear Channel.

I loved listening to the old boy slush through his speech. Great memories. Wasn't his daughter in on the act as well (on the rock side)? They also sinced up the fireworks show at the end of summer.
