No use beating a dead horse here, but this team is infuriating to watch. The lack of discipline at all ends is mind boggling - free throws, turnovers, inside play and defense. All really basic stuff...If Watson played today we would have gotten smoked. A few notes:
Myles Davis is a liability to this team. Even at his best last year, I questioned his ability to defend. He's mentally unprepared and a step slow. Watching him in the Villanova game almost made me sick.
To anyone who thinks that Trevon is an NBA pick - I'll gladly laugh in your face. He does some things really well, but an elite level player? Show me.
Historically, by this time in the season, someone comes of age. Still waiting for Quentin Gooden to progress and Gates to play at a level that we've seen.
I'll always bleed blue, but we are at best a bubble team right now. The numbers just don't lie. What's our record against ranked teams this year? Gtown and UC could handily beat us. This sucks.

I agreed with some of what you said until you went off the rails at the end. X's rpi is 16 right now and far from a bubble team...ask the doctor of the bracketology. They are frustrating but Creighton was a #6 rank team and while they lost their point their bench is no slough. Look at their scoring number this year and what they scored tonight. Please Paul don't drink before you post.PaulHickey wrote:No use beating a dead horse here, but this team is infuriating to watch. I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I really don't know why some of you put yourselves through this. It really appears that you personally live and die with each game, even each shot. How can this be enjoyable? Perspective people, perspective. Take a deep breath, step away from the computer, go outside for a walk, and realize that this is really not all that important in the grand scheme of things. Don't let how these kids/young men play a game ruin your life.

I couldn't agree more with Paul. If Davis is going come back and be out of shape and be a detriment to the team just take your lumps with Goodin. I don't think anyone's life is being ruined, but this is a message board and I think most take this more serious than we should but what else is there to do in Ohio in Jan?

Bluiett's mind is on the NBA (Turkey).
Everyone on this team has regressed. Sad!

If the only thing I had to be concerned about in this world is the fate of this year's Xavier basketball team I'd be a happy man.

My Dad wZ in the Pacific from 42 to 45. Mh Grandma would read me his scrapbook from his playing days at X while he was gone. I'm worried. Can't help it. That's 75 years of following our team.

Re: Should we be worried
the answer to the question is YES!!!!!! They show no continuous "chemistry" for 35 plus minutes per game. They do not work for the best shots....to quick to just throw up a 3 from ....sometimes from way beyond the 3 line. Have to start playing smart basketball and take better shots...and then "make" the shot!!! at a higher %. I see this team being shipped out West, if they make the tournament . For now, they are the 4th best team in the Big East....keep losing and next is the bubble to out all together.

Re: Should we be worried
I have not seen any comments but may have missed them on what i would say is the most worrisome issue, ie Sumner's shoulder problems? I've seen/heard a few bites that his shoulder is bothering enough to where he's passing on opportunities. Bad time of the year to have this type of issue not to mention for a guy who like to go to the rim. He's our only true create your own shot guy in my book.

Re: Should we be worried
I have to remind myself that we are Xavier! Hopefully Individudals 96 evolve into team 96 sooner rather than later. The talent is there. C'mon Coach Mack! Xavier teams with much less talent have performed better than what we are seeing. Let's make a run!
