He probably shouldn't have broke three of his ex girlfriends phone.

Re: Myles
Having Myles as an option is a big win when it happens. I do not believe he should start, unless chemistry is improved with him on the court but X needs firepower off the bench. If Myles starts then it likely means JP is 6 man but JP has been huge this season so you don't want to limit his minutes most games. Myles is a clutch player and will be key at times but I'd also be in favor of him having a more limited role. He can play point and wing so everyone can be fresh. Feed the hot hand and give extended minutes to whomever is playing best. JP, TB and Sumner should generally command the most minutes but Myles will allow all of them the chance to rest. He is also big time at end of games to have another FT shooter and deep threat and experienced decision maker.

Re: Myles
No probably about it....he shouldn't have. But what's done, is done. Time now to decide what comes next. He's already lost 1/2 of his senior year, been arrested, been to court, paid restitution, and has (hopefully) ment all of the requirements necessary for full reinstatement. I hope to see him back in school and on the court with weeks.skyhops wrote:He probably shouldn't have broke three of his ex girlfriends phone.
I'll tell you this....don't underestimate the point I made about him already losing 1/2 of his senior year. Unless you've been there, that's not something most can understand how important it is. Your senior year of college, especially when you know that there is a pretty good likelihood that it's the end of your "career", is just about as big a deal as it can be for someone of that age. As someone that lost 90% of their senior year, I can tell you that while it didn't ruin my life, it's something I think about often and wonder what might have been. And this is almost 40 years later. I imagine it will stay with me the rest of my life. I also imagaine all of this will remain a part of Mile's life forever too. I'm sure he understands that he can never get this time back, but only over time will he really understand what that means. It would be a damn shame if people held this against him for the rest of his life.....give him a break. Let him play.

Re: Myles
In my opinion, Myles Davis has been a great representative for Xavier and Xavier Athletics the past four years. Like most things, there are always two sides to every story. I think Myles appears to have done what has been asked of him and should certainly have the opportunity to compete for playing time on the team this year. He paid his own tuition to attend Xavier his freshman year, played three seasons and contributed enough to be a team captain last year. I hope the Xavier nation welcomes him with a standing ovation when he first appears in a game at Cintas this season and that he can help this team be the best Xavier team ever!!

I think he comes off the bench initially. Chris's tendency is stick with the same starting lineup.madness31 wrote:Having Myles as an option is a big win when it happens. Who starts is overrated. Myles will probably take some minutes mostly from Bernard and allow not having Ed, JP and Tre having to play close to 40 minutes.
Case in point - Ed has 4 games this year where he has 35+ minutes. Last year he had only 1 game where he more than 35 minutes - the Wisconsin game.
JP has had 3 games of 35+ minutes or more this year. He zero last year.

I believe we can now put to rest the complete tomfoolery of debating whether X could use Myles back.....

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
