Has to continue to give us confidence in Mack. Started slowly but has really stepped it up. If he can take us deep this year, he needs to be better compensated.

Well then, open up the wallet big boy. I'm sure the program would welcome any contribution you might care to make......
Seriously though, I don't know the particulars of his contract, but I'm sure that there are bonus and salary considerations based on success in March. Gotta face the fact that a coach at private school Xavier is never going to make the money that a large state school can pay, or even many private schools with larger alumni bases and endowment funds. Mack is well compensated and as long as he is happy, we should be happy too.
But isn't this a thread about a PLAYER? Unless the rules are changed, how much HE makes is not open to discussion....

As noted....MUCH larger alumni bases and endowment funds than X, you can throw ND, Northwestern, USC, Stanford, and many other schools into the mix also. All have larger alumni bases and endowments than X. How they choose to use these assists is their choice, but it ca t be denied that the potential funds that can be used to pay coaches is much greater at those schools than at X.hoosiermuskie wrote:I'll bet 2 private schools pay their coaches well. My guess is we will not sign anyone else for 2017. If Edmond leaves in the next two seasons, and no one else transfers or leaves early, we would have 4 open spots for 2018. That evens the classes out a bit and it also gives us some room for a transfer or two if we opt to do so, and I believe we will. Why wouldn't we if the kid is a good fit?

Agreed. This is likely our 2017 class, and I would be very surprised if the coaches dont try to get a transfer or two in the spring.commish118 wrote:My guess is we will not sign anyone else for 2017.
