Re: Wilkes Trims List to 3
We will have 6 open spots next year as it stands now. If Bluiett and Sumner jump to the NBA after next season, we would have 8 open spots. There is plenty of room for both Scruggs and Manley, plus a transfer or 2.

I think we need a PG too.
If both leave, we would only have Goodin, Macura, and incoming FR Harden at Guard for 2017... as it stands now. Scruggs would be a 4th, but that would leave us with 2 FR and a SO at the position. Of course there is no telling if they leave, but I think it is highly likely. So I would think it would be highly likely that we will be looking for graduate transfer Guards at the end of the season, who can come in an play right away. Either that or D2 Guards.skyhops wrote:Agreed Commish. Ed and Tre will both be gone after next as will three others that will play a prominent role this upcoming season.

This is a long way away but, given that were now recruiting kids who are borderline college ready, I wonder if Mack would consider laying off the transfer market and throwing our underclassman into the fire, with the assumption that we could be VERY scary in 2019 and 2020.commish118 wrote:Postby oreobob » Mon Oct 10, 2016 7:27 pm

XU also has Ridder and Marshall but Scruggs is still VERY important. Go Xavier!

I prefer to stay focused on this season when we do have all of these people. Let's make the most of this opportunity year and then worry about next year. Chris always seems to be competitive. So far the recruiting for next year is going well. I thought there was one more guard. Isn't Ridder a guard/wing?

Digit - Naji Marshall is listed as a shooting guard (6'5") and Ridder as a small forward (6'7") and XU has K. Jones as a BIG man. To me Scruggs would round out a very good recruiting class. Go Xavier!

You've proven to be the Nostradamus of the board, and along with my mentor, Muskieman,(aka Slyvia Browne) seem to have the most inside info. Me hopes you prognisticate correctly again. Need a pg or combo, since Sumner is all but gone.
