I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Really, why do we need this on the MM basketball board. I served during Vietnam (not there tho) but I could have been. But I don't want to turn this board into a political/social issue debate. CK has said it's not about that, so let's just move on. Hell, if I post an update on Kokrak here--it gets moved, so let's move this off also.

For me, the most troubling part is reading the comments to the story and how nasty and mean-spirited people are to each other.muskieman wrote:http://www.dailyliked.net/players-national-anthem/
The internet affords a degree of anonymity that creates this environment.
Unfortunately, the result is that our country has seemingly lost the ability to have civil conversations with each other about the issues that face us.
And I'm not holding out much hope that we will get it back.

first SC I didn't move your thread and second Buzz is basketball so it is closer to this board then golf. If you don;t like it do the same thing I do when it is golf. Lastly, the Jim Rome effect started this disrespect for others...had he never been given a show we would all be sweet and nice!SC in DC wrote:Really, why do we need this on the MM basketball board. MM, I really don't want to do this, but here goes---it's a bogus argument that it's about Buzz, and second, I never said you moved it, and finally I have NO idea what the JR show and disrect (sic) have to do with it. My point was simply, your post was not appropriate for this forum. Obviously, you don't agree, but if all we had to do is ignore posts we don't like, as you suggest, then why do we need rules and moderators??

I moved it as I have moved others to an appropriate forum fitting, as I saw it, to the post. Don't take it personal but golf is played with a much smaller ball and really does not belong in a basketball forum.
The bigger thing you should perhaps address is a request to the owner of this site to open up a chat room for golf. I really don't relish spending the time to move them but it's a job I was asked to do, ill paying as it may be.

Shadow--seems I'm not being very clear. Once I realized that my Kokrak posts weren't deleted. but moved to the other board, I was fine with it and now know where to go to discuss his results with other interested parties. I don't play golf, I have very little interest in golf, and I don't want to open a chat room for golf. I simply enjoy seeing X men succeed and thot others might as well (regardless of ball size-no offense taken). My point was simply that the Buzz post was not appropriate for this forum.

not appropriate for this forum because you deemed it political. I didn't see it that way so maybe the problem is on your end. Thanks for your service, sorry it made up so upset.SC in DC wrote:Shadow--seems I'm not being very clear. This is crazy, so I give up. Never said it made up (sic) so upset. I just didn't think we needed that on this board. There is no problem on my end, I was just voicing an opinion. SORRY to have caused you two so much trouble!
