Well said. She is also a Xavier grad , though that shouldn't matter. This victim blaming - a la Dez Well's accuser - seems to happen alot when the accussed happens to be a key member of a collegiate sport's team, whether it's X, or hundreds of other schools in the U.S. She may instigated some of this. We'll never know, but we'll find out in the next few weeks I suspect. I really like MD as a person, and hope it works out well for him, and the other Xavier person involed in this mess.

Notre Dame has student athletes in trouble. Already 2 have been dismissed from school 1 day later and the other 4 face internal disciplinary measures. Is there a reason we have heard nothing yet about what X plans to do about MD ? Is it necessary to wait on the outcome of the criminal charges? I would think X could have already done their own investigation. I don't believe Xavier has made any comment on this incident.

I believe that the alleged rapist at Duke were given the same treatment and the same quick unthinking judgement. Like someone said let's not blame the victim and right now the victim could be either person or maybe both. Act like grads of Xavier and let the legal system work this out.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

If it was a mutual toxic relationship he'd take out a restraining order against her as well. Obviously he's at fault here and if he gets special treatment because he's a big contributor on our top 10 basketball team, then we have lost our identity as a Jesuit, Catholic University. That's a shame.

What is obvious is that you are quick to place blame without due process,

Couldn't agree more! Our Jesuit, Catholic beliefs would not advocate placing judgment on others. Let the process take it's path and trust in the University do do what is right after the legal process is complete. And If you think that they won't do what is right because he is a basketball player, I would simply say "Dez Wells" disproves that.

Whatever happens, I pray both will find peace and resolution, and grow from this. Life is tough enough at their age. To experience this type of emotional stress, and in such a public way, is going to be hard for both to overcome.

I wouldn't go there if I were you. Many Jesuit universities have lost their way on some very meaningful issues. You obviously are out in left field on this one. I agree with MM that you forget about due process. And how about a first offense also? At the least he deserves another chance.

Let your initial knee-***** reaction pass without comment, which others have wisely, and astutely, addressed.

However, this comment shows a tad bit of naiveté. Hopefully, you have never experienced circumstances with which you must confront such a decision and, hopefully, you never will.

Such incidents and events occur. Not everyone chooses to press charges nor litigate, whether it be criminal or civil in nature, when wronged. Not suggesting that this is always the correct or better path, but there are reasons such decisions are made based upon a myriad of facts.

The situation between Myles' and his former girlfriend is in the hands of the authorities. Allow the process to unfold. It is best not to surmise why one party does, or does not, respond in a certain way.

Misdemeanor. If found guilty does he deserve some type of suspension?
In my opinion, the title of this thread is misleading: It doesn't fairly or accurately reflect the situation. As such, it does a disservice to Myles Davis.

Question: When will the case be resolved (Has a court date been set?)

Seems most on here are ok with our program turning into UC of the 90's as long as we win.
