6'7" 220 pound wing from Nebraska that made 87 threes last season is transferring and eligible immediately as 5th year senior.
In Mack I trust, but sounds like it might be worth taking a long look at him.

Re: Andrew White III
Made me curious enough to look up who offered him while he was in HS. Quite a few as a consensus 4 star.

As Yago Colas says: The fun of basketball is ya never know what's gonna happen next.
*Yago Colas is a prof at U of Michigan who writes about the culture and history of basketball.
His new book, BALL DON'T LIE is worth a look.

Unless TB decides to not play next year i would say there is 0.0 chance of him landing at X.

Article isnt explicit about him not being a true team player outside of thr fact that he is transferring. Sounds more like a pissed off fan than anything.

Still not a lot of facts about him not being a team player. Only chatter about his second transfer.Shadow wrote:http://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/shat ... 151cc.htmlJesseandrippers wrote:

Re: Andrew White III
I thought this transfer was curious because of its timing, so I read some stuff online from the Omaha papers. What it appeared the articles where getting at is the idea that his parents or other family members may have an unrealistic idea about his abilities (he was originally at Kansas). He was viewed as a borderline late second round pick by most scouts.
Articles also state that his father sees a correlation between winning games and getting drafted and Nebraska was 16-18 last year I think. However, I'm not sure that correlation is accurate given LSU's failure to make the NCAA tourney with Ben Simmons. A down year for Duke with Brandon Ingraham and Cal losing in the first round with Jaylen Brown.
White is also from Richmond so VCU could be an option and he is also speaking with Louisville but remember the two senior transfers Damion Lee and Trey Lewis who went to Pitino's den of iniquity last year, did not get drafted.
As far as X goes, he is certainly not an upgrade over Trevon B. Further, I would not want to bring someone in who is going to hinder Trevon's development. With that being said, Mack tends to play the best combinations regardless of size. He would be an slight upgrade over JP, as I think JP's best role is as a super sub and fearless crunch time scorer. Whe'll see what happens... go X!

Re: Andrew White III
Agree that the initial article was written with more "sour grapes" than actual raw data about this guy being a problem child. That said, chemistry is IMHO, more important than talent given our current roster versus what Mr. White adds. So I would say recruit him ONLY if you believe he is a capable and willing defender. I need two-way players, not stat stuffers looking already towards next yr's draft before midnight madness even tips...
