<<You can consider me an additional "assistant coach off the bench">>

Nah, I don't think we will. We'll just consider you another online blowhard.

You do realize that thru the first 6 games X has done this in 4 of them and missed doing it in the other 2 by 1 and 5. I think the FT will improve as it has almost every year. It probably won't get as high as last year but it will be respectable.

Dad, think about what you say, and then you might understand why everyone thinks you are nuts.

You are more arrogant than Fat Charlie.

<The purpose of this post "How to shoot FT's 101") is to help Xavier win some games! ... I do want to contribute to help XU win .... The only way that I can help XU win some games is to use my knowledge of basketball and point out areas that need improvment and make suggestions. ... As an astute observer of the finer points of the game of basketball, I feel that I can impart my knowledge for the benefit of the team .... You can consider me an additional "assistant coach off the bench" ... It is my hope that Mclean and the coaching staff will take heed and work with him in the manner in which i suggested ... In this way, I can help XU win games ... The next time Mclean is at the free throw line with the game on the line using his new proper technique ... i can get that special fuzzy feeling in my heart that I was somewhat responsible for him making it and in turn responsible for the XU win!! >

Getreal,

I stand corrected - as often happens. I guess I made the unsubstantiated claim because it "felt" like we were not making more FTs than the other team was attempting.

At the Miami game my brother made a good point (one that I completely forgot). We will always be taking more FTs than most of our opponents because we are better athletes than most of them. Too fast, Jump too high, etc.

To add to this... we will also be shooting a lot of FTs as long as we can't make them. How to defend Shaq? Foul him.

In my defense, I did say we would slightly improve our percentages as the season progresses.

As I pointed out above, our FT problems are really specific to a few players. Brown, Raymond and Love are doing as well or better than last year.

C.J.'s down quite a bit, and we lost 3 82%+ FT shooters and replaced them with guys not shooting at that very high level.

But if CJ gets back to last year's 67%, and Holloway returns and continues to knock 'em down, I think we'll be OK at the line.

last night on "the sean miller radio show" coach mentioned jamel mclean's free thow shooting (probably in reply to this blog) #22 seems to tighten up at the line during games, but shoots better % during practice..i'm confident our coaching staff will improve his ft's...i'm happy with the other 99% of his game and X wouldn't be 6- :!: without him

I think we can all agree that McLeans form is pretty lousy at the free throw line and this is probably true whether he is alone in the gym or in front of 10,250 fans. Its about as bad as the way the Millersdad presented his message on this topic.

Dear Dad

You are a great humanitarian, with incredible writing and rhetorical skills. Some time soon, you will have an opportunity to pass on unimagined insights to the impaired readers of MM, in the form of an original and insightful thread headline, with equally insightful commentary. And it will be critical, absolutely critical, I tell ya, that you be at the top of your posting game when that special moment arrives.

Unfortunately, you have so botched your last several posts, no one will trust you with the nuggets of truth you have mined. Your posting style is completely incorrect, and on top of it, you swagger around on self congratulatory Glory Days, as if you were the only person to have noticed the totally obvious.

Please please please, get a Rhetoric Coach, enroll in How to Make Friends, AND check your Globetrotter trophy under the mouse pad, before Christmas if possible. And I say this not as a former self-appointed FT champion of the Cin Ath Club, where I could can 45 of 50 daily in my 40s. My credentials are much more impressive than that! Yes, I corrected 150 themes a week, 35 weeks a year, for five freakin years, and most of my sophomores could spot a rhetorical gaffe faster than thou.

NOW! and I mean NOW, with several consecutive question marks, Can someone splain to me why this poor poster hasn't had his learning yet????? Where the hell are the coaches on this Board??

Oh wait, someone already pointed out .....nevermind.
