Calling All Xavier Fans...Show Thanks to Team @ XU/MU Game

[jskeldon]

Given that this is Thanksgiving week, what better time than now to thank the Xavier men's basketball team for an impressive tournament championship in Puerto Rico this past weekend. As Andy Mac suggested in his latest column, it would be very fitting to give the Musketeers a memorable tribute/thanks during Saturday afternoon's game against Miami (OH) at Cintas Center.

Calling on Xavier student and X-Treme Fans! You've been a terrific and imposing presence for visiting teams at Cintas. Now, how about a creative and deserving show of thanks to the team!

"It's hard to understate what the Muskies accomplished in Puerto Rico. The players deserve some special thanks and recognition. Any ideas? I'm thinking right after the introductions Saturday afternoon at Cintas and before the tip against Miami the crowd chants something loudly and in unison for a couple minutes making the Cintas shake and giving the players a great memory and maybe some goose bumps.

Make it spontaneous and growing and loud! How about "Puerto Rico" in that sing songy style or "Thank You, Muskies." We can't buy them gifts or dinners, but there must be something we can do. They gave me a great weekend and you too I hope!!

I will be there in full force to show my appreciation for what a wonderful job this team did down in Puerto Rico. Not only did the beat three quality teams, the also showed that there is no giving up on this team. Go X and beat Miami....

[chowertime]

not sure that many students will be there. being that it is Thanksgiving break and all... most students flights wont get in until Sunday.

[xuhuh!]

suggestion: instead of puerto rico (it's history), instead of the traditional half-hearted clap, clap, clap, yeah they scored, now i can sit down......how about......it's tricky.....LET'S GO MUSKIES! CLAP, CLAP....CLAP,CLAP CLAP. repeat until X scores, immediately change to DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE.....10,250+ these Muskies take pride in their DEFENSE.......

Man, I wish I could be there. I'll be visiting my parents in West Virginia. I think your sentiment is right on the money, though. This program has provided us with a tremendous calendar year 2008. We need to do all we can to show we are thankful.

chant puerto rico champs clap clap clap and repeat over and over after tip off

[10-20-30]

puerto -- rico . . . . .puerto -- rico

seems fitting, a well deserved tribute, success is to be celebrated, by us for them, I'm never to cool to celebrate a huge string of victories, huge early season success, show them some love
