Well now you're making me a little sad.

On a side note, I would like to thank the Skeldons for starting this board. The same goes to Muskieman and Mr. Neutral for the thankless task of moderating the board.

If you like the other board, fine, go there. No need to come over here and badmouth...that was the announced reason for leaving, 87 and jimmie "I'll never post here again" boy. Just leave. I would applaud deleting them, Muskieman.

I'm the guy who raised the IP identify issue originally, but I'm loyal to this board and the outlet it gives us, and the Mods who take the heat.
More posts like this and you may be talking only to yourself and Shadow on this board. But as a longtime poster on this board, and one who did not exclusively jump to the other board, I appreciate your "kind", and not unexpected, words.

First, let me thank bourbonman for letting me know about this thread.

Thanks for the offer Jimmy. I suspect this could be the poster f.k.a ATL Muskie. Given that Jimmy is Georgia's native son. In any event, I have to admit that I miss having ATL Muskie, DC Muskie and nuts4xu making regular posts on this board. Now, given that both ATL and nuts were run off the old board, I can understand their reason for not being here.

I have to say, though I have not been to hoops, the thought has crossed my mind to do so. However, I really like this board and the history of it. Contrary to what SM#24 suggests, I would not prefer Shadow over 40 Props. What I do prefer is good dialogue that makes sense and open-minded moderators. I'll let each of you decide who fits into what category.

My days are very busy and it is difficult enough for me to attend to one chatboard regularly. But, I did it because it was fun. So, the thought of going to another chatboard doesn't trip my trigger. However, I do miss the humor and fun that was part of the old board.

Look, I may go over and peek at the new board, but doubt I would ever be a regular there. However, if I go to the new board, I will feel equally as empty there without the great posters on this board. My hope is that the separation can cease and that we can all live happily ever-after here on MM. At this point, that may be too much to ask.

So, we'll see.

Don't go, 87, don't go! Or at least stop back occasionally. Nobody goes to the same bar every night, or has the same meal every night.

Stay '87.

Where else do you get Bird Zone reports? My son was enthusiastic last week not only for the team's win, but he dropped in 16 points and bettered his dad's all-time high of 14 points ... 30 yrs ago.

Carlos:

I'll say the same thing to you that I asked Shadow- Show me where I said I would never post here again. You can keep your holier than thou smart ass comments to yourself. Spare me the "mods who take the heat" crap. The heat taken on by Shadow is well-deserved b/c he brings it on himself. The heat taken by GMG and mm is not deserved. You have to make a distinction between the two.

Trust me, I'm more than happy to leave and go to the other board. I simply posted on this thread b/c I think it's absolutely absurd to raise a stink about a guy posting from a UC computer. Who the hell cares, as long as the post is legit? I will never, for the life of me, figure out why Shadow was given mod duties to begin with and why he continues to retain them. You can beat the "loyalty" drum all you want, but I don't care for Shadow's ridiculous methods nor do I care to get error msgs all the time. Again, why question the origin of a guy's IP address?

Muskieman, I have often read your posts for several years before joining. I have also used MM on countless occasions as an invaluable resource for understanding the state of the team while essentially missing whole seasons. So I mean this with absolutely no disrespect to anyone or anything:

But could someone tell me why posting my fears about playing in St. Louis, in consideration of the fact that we have lost the last two years there in spite of being favored, constitutes a need to look at not just the location of that post, since that one was done at home, but of all my posts? And then why that post, coupled with the fact that I have some undetermined affiliation with UC, is grounds for inferring that I am a UC troll?
Furthermore, how that gives anyone a right to post anything at all related to my location?

Essentially, what line did I cross?

I know next to nothing of the issues between MM and Xhoops, etc., and no offense to those involved, but I won't take the time to inform myself. I'm just hear to read and talk about Xavier hoops.

If I can figure it out, I think my signature will be:

Two final questions before I hopefully never have to talk about this again:

What the hell does "troll" mean? Is it just a spaz, or an instigator from another site/team?

And should I assume that someone "reported" me to the moderators? If so, anyone care to fess up an explain to me why, so that I can try to not insult you or make you question my loyalty to XU again?

I've never liked the term "troll" myself, more because it makes the user seem as nerdy as the one it's directed at.

I prefer doofus, knucklehead, loser, and many other terms which I've been on the receiving end of over the years.
