A10 frosh

Postby xukeith » Thu Mar 27, 2014 8:59 pm

Dayton freshman looks very poised and confident.
I am NO Dayton fan but wonder, "How does Dayton's freshman look poised and confident but we at X have frosh that play scared and have little confidence" in Myles, Farr, and Randolph. Not producing the last and most important 10 games.

Kudos to the lil brother up north. They are carving up OSU, Syracuse and now Stanford. Impressive for a last 8 in school.

I'll give props to dayton, and not to sound like I'm trying to lessen what this team is accomplishing, but watching this game, Stanford's D is looking like a high school's D. Dayton is getting so many wide open lay ups this half. Could be a good game plan at all, but Stanford looks defeated.

Not a Dayton fan at all and even converted Mrs. Hops (UD grad) to an Z fan, but UD is much more prepared for a zone by attacking early and moving the ball as well as utilizing the bench. None of UD's frosh (maybe Smith) were ranked higher than Randolph, Davis, or Reynolds yet they are making a difference. Oh, and they are A10 recruits.

Good thing we got out of the A10 when we did. Jimmy Carter remains in tact.

Dayton looks much better than XU. What happened to the X team that blew by Iowa til SC got cramps and blew by UC? What happened to the team that was so fun to watch and seemed to be having a good time together?
Dayton looks like that team we were on occasion early in season, and even better. They hustle, win every loose ball, pound the offensive glass (at least tonight). Would like to see that motivation here.

Future looks good for UD also, without the heralded recruiting class.

11 seed UD finished 6th in the A10, 10-6; 25-10. Is Archie Miller suddenly a genius in 3 games? Not necessarily but he's a good guy it's a good story as the Flyers got hot when you want a team to be hot.

We can criticize their fans all we want but they are loyal and ardent. USA Today says it was like a home game with all the fans they had at the game. GOOD FOR THEM. Will root for them til they lose.

Dayton's guard play, particularly on defense, has been impressive. Archie has done a very good job with them. That's where it starts. He's even doing it with A10 recruits. Remarkable.
