Now, if Stan had said something like "vee can't hit his driver worth ****" or "Griffin's long irons are comical", that might be smack talk.

Possibly accurate (as least in regards to me), but smack nonetheless.

Unfortunately, he would be right about my driver Gary. Now if he said that about my short game, that would be smack! BTW, Tiger looks like the layoff really hurt him, eh?

Are you serious about this comment? Stan is right and everyone that plays X knows it.

It ain't bragging when you back it up which they have done all year. If this is the best bulletin board material that they can come up with then so be it.

What the competition needs to do is shut down at least 3 of the 6 Xplayers that average double figures. Then they have a good shot at beating us. Just like X focuses on when they play Indiana, Kansas State, UMASS, Dayton etc. They focus on shutting down certain players and they do it.

Dang, I like watching this team.

Principal has a point.....and X has not "backed it up all year" (see losses to Miami, Temple and ASU).

Great win today, and the upside for this team is the strongest I have seen at X for 20+ years. Keep the focus, however, and stop listening to the commentators and rankings.

What's the beef? The man just passed James Posey on the all-time scoring race among Xavier players. He did this on a day when he scored only 5 points but held one of the better scorers in the A-10 well below his average. Stan has 3 years of history in the books that already have proven he can score with the best of them. Instead of thinking only of himself and striving to move higher on the list of Xavier greats, Stan sacrifices that by concentrating on defense and playing a great floor game.

It is Stan's play that contributes greatly to the Muskies having one of the very best back courts in college basketball. Rather than criticize him for stating the obvious, we should hail him for being the kind of player that other teams' fans would die for!

This tournament was classic Tiger and Phil. Tiger's relentlessly good, saves par when necessary, and makes great shots for birdies. Phil, on the other hand, starts to get on a roll and then gives all the shots back with stupid mistakes. Harmon should work on Phil's head, not his swing.

I did get a chance to hit outside today, and while the Champions Tour won't be calling soon, I'm swinging better. Can't wait for some real golf.

Last time I looked X has backed up what Stan has said more time than not and the only team in the top 25 without a loss is Memphis so I guess X is in company of some strong teams.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Hey, I've been accused of overreading everything, and this thread post has me thinking "wha?"

Most other teams we play do NOT have as many weapons as we do. We have Plan B, Plan C, ....

It's a good segue into an emerging theory that I am developing about Xavier's defensive scheme (and please forgive if I've missed a thread on this) We are basicly siccing our best defenders on the opposing team's best offensive players, playing up in their shorts before they get the ball, and as soon as they do get the ball, turning them into double team. We then daring the secondary players to beat us. It has just been more apparent to me over the past few games, but I start thinking back as far as the Indiana game.

Miller has them buying in to this, and they are executing on defense at a very high level.

Yes, X has done a very good job of shutting down/limiting guys who are otherwise very productive offensive players. That's certainly a big reason this team is 17-4. It means we don't have to try to outscore some team we're not stopping, which has caused us problems in the past.
