No commissioner and no staff but they did talk about ticket prices for the basketball tournament and TV contracts.

Wow! $440 per ticket and no matter where you sit! OSD is retired, living on a fixed income. I was hoping to make the trip to NYC for the tournament, but a price of $440 would likely stretch the budget beyond a reasonable chance to attend, so I hope they do make changes to the pricing program. My guess is that they will have to.

my guess from this comment by Rasmussen: “It's a real priority that in the first few years that our tournament has a great energy and support of the fans. We are sensitive to prices, and we're looking at options.” that prices might be less for the first year or so and if it takes off then higher prices would be instituted. It makes no sense to make prices high the first year and have a half empty or more MSG
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

X will always get the short hand unless they make it to the final 4 or do back to back elite 8's.
Only 10-15 schools get lots of stuff written about them
X is good but not quite exceptional.
About the same boat as Gonzaga.

I'm excited about the new Big East. I think addition of Xavier/Creighton/etc. into the mix is going to make that league a CBB lover's dream

Jon Rothstein‏@JonRothstein1m

Greetings from Providence. Here taking in an offseason workout. The Friars will be a Top 5 team in the Big East.

Biggest thing that immediately stands out for Providence? Scary length. The whole Friars' rotation will be over 6-4 other than Bryce Cotton.

Kris Dunn has totally transformed his body. A legit 6-4, 195. Will have a breakout year for Providence. Finally healthy.

Well it looks nice but seems to me they would have had some content for the kickoff. They certainly had time. Frankly disappointed me. Out of curiosity I checked that new conference that started up yesterday and that was more like what I would have expected. Hopefully they will get things in gear soon.

It's just what somebody thinks ...

Excellent observation.

The content could have been basic, including season opener information for the Fall Sports and something on the New Year's Eve Basketball Match-Ups.

Additionally, a map of the schools and a few items highlighting each member could have been rolled out for "Day One."

None of this would have been difficult to include, even at this early stage.
