Have watched St.John's a lot this season. Never seen them look so good.

The BE gets 5 for the Dance and X will not be one of the 5.....not the way they re playing. Only a major win streak can save them.

Re: ST JOHNS GAME THREAD
Hops,
The word again is redundant when describing Scruggs's play in this way. I love the dedication and warrior he has been for X in the eleven he has been here, but he has regressed, along with Free & Jones. Also, Johnson to a degree. Lack of development along with low IQ play has been a hallmark under Steele. Another Q3 loss AT HOME, and a loss of a Q1 win with MQuette as their NET is now at 30. Gonzaga would have 8 losses if this guy coached their team. He would have Timme in the corner firing threes all game.
Christopher walked out of Cintas as he heard boos throughout the game but was still in a good mood because he realized once again that he isn't at BG. The Dip N Dots and pretzel Steele's FIL sent over didn't hurt either.

Re: ST JOHNS GAME THREAD
St Johns has more talent and is more athletic than us. I told you we could not guard Champagnie, yet Steele continued to have undersize Jones guard him. Of the recruits left (Jones, Odom, and Free) none of them can shoot and they seem to be regressing. Once again we let someone on the bench have a career night against us. Freemantle and Hunter playing together provides nothing but bonehead plays on no box outs. Please don't tell me that Steele is a good recruiter because it just isnt the case. Luckily for Steele Daddy in law has deep pockets.

Just heard that John Brannen called his realtor tonight and told him to put a hold on selling his house. He asked him to start looking in the Hyde Park area, at one of those beautiful old gigantic Tudors 7 minutes from Cintas.

Great point Mman? Do you think someone more athletic with greater length guarding him may have been a good adjustment? Paging J Hunter! I know he already made two adjustments in the game and only had one more, as he used one by telling Free to move and position his body against a driving player as opposed to standing still like a traffic cone, but I think it would have been worth it.muskieman wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 8:38 pmDo you think Colby's D on Champagnie was good? Pathetic effort…cant blame matchups again. You used that on DePaul already.

Yea,Cliff Clavin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 8:45 pmX took the lead at 57-56 and proceeded to go 0/9 from three with 5 turnovers. Just don’t have the leadership or effort to close tough games out. Hard to watch these games and think Steele has control, if he does that is a bigger problem! Did Edwards not sprint in the layup lines during practice he missed time again after Steele swore he was getting him minutes. Can’t wait to watch him develop under Frank Martin!
Only positive is Vegas missed this one and spotted the Johnnies 7.5!
Edwards has offensive skill and could not do worse rebounding or defending than Free did. As I said before, I selfishly hope he stays, but if he wants to play in the NCAA tourney and develop, X probably ain't the place for him. However, me thinks he will be Wilchered: a 40% three-point shooter who could not play over Carter. I think if Steele coached the Bengals, he would have convinced Mike Brown to keep Dalton and draft a placekicker over Burrow.

Great point edgecliff. They came into Cintas only two games over 500 for a reason. When you are outcoached by Mike Anderson, you've got issues. However, that's a statement that can be made in favor of 85% of coaches who have to square off against the Frank Haith of the BE.edgecliff hall wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 9:13 pmHave watched St.John's a lot this season. I heard father in was already making another donation after the game. MM, why are we so unathletic and why can’t Steele’s recruits shoot?

Xavier drops from 24th to 38th on KenPom after the loss to St. John's.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
