Musketeer 1, I note that Mr. Johnson is coming back to play for Mr. Steele next year. He is voting with his body, mind and spirit.
Think about that.

Steele is underqualified, overmatched, and must go. Pitino or a return of S. Miller, if even a possibility (unrealistic, IMO) would nevertheless be unacceptable. A distinguishing trait of this program over the past several decades has been its class and integrity. Bringing in either of those two would irreparably tarnish that which has taken ages to build. Winning basketball games is nice. Doing so the right way is what this program is about.
agreed and let's be honest here: Pitino has a ZERO percent chance of coaching at Xavier. ZERO. and, Sean Miller was interested in coming back, and apparently was ready to chat with Xavier about the possibility, and Xavier, in a sense, basically said "no thank you", which was the right thing to do, no matter how many people on here think he was our best coach ever.

Pitino has come out and said “I’m not a candidate for Indiana or any job. You could come to me with the greatest job on Earth and I would not consider it. I came home to coach and end my career at a small Catholic school,”
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

How can you not trust that face?

From strictly an on court basketball perspective of things, Thad Matta was the best "Closer" I've seen at Xavier since being a fan. If X was up say 6 points with 3 minutes to go he was pretty much money. Now the rest of his legacy here has been rehashed and well deserved, but he could finish games a lot better than he finished his very short stay here.

Thadd was not a permanent type coach. He was always looking for the next job. He was a good coach during his time at X and had some success at osu. Shame that for being a Closer he didn't close out the Duke game. I remember his coach's show when he would sit in the parking lot until 5 or 10 minutes would go by and in a half hour show he wouldn't have to answer too many questions...reminds me of the president

If they would take him I’m all for it, good suggestion. I’m sure most on hear would as well. Bring in Kelsey and all is well.
Always the guy not on the hot seat is better and your proof is he was terrific in the 25th rated conference
Scott Drew, Chris Beard, Jay Wright, Brad Underwood......... Random names. I 'm on record as saying that Steele should get another year, but that statement makes me vomit in my mouth more and more. AH was cursed with two supposed blessings: tremendous charm and a big heart.

so you name a few guys with success but there are many that failed...just look at Indiana and Archie. For every Scott Drew, there is a Jim Christian, Johnny Dawkins, Brian Gregory, Travis Ford, or Tim Miles all given 4 years or more and sometimes given second chance teams to prove they were mediocre at best. As for on the record, you make a politician blush with your flip-flopping but it goes with your motto "AH supports you win or win."

Geeze Jesse I didn't even realize this was was 14 years to the exact day. Sincere apologies for bringing back such horrible memories. Probably the saddest ( and longest) day ever for me ever as a Xavier fan. Much like Arizona is doing this year, I am self banning myself from the Board.
Forgiveness requested
