Lavender to practice this week
Per Miller, who said the difference between the Dayton game (in which Lavender played 33 minutes) and the GW game (in which Lavender played 16 minutes) is that the GW game was tougher and Xavier got so many days off in advance of it. If you recall, there were six days between the Dayton and GW game, and by tipoff Saturday, Lavender hadn't practiced in about three weeks.
"We don't play again until Thursday," Miller said. "The difference is that he is now going to practice. I hope that last component will make the difference in him hopefully returning."
Miller said he hasn't thought of sitting Lavender for the rest of the regular season and that it's not currently part of XU's plan.

Re: Good news from DD on Drew
I assume Dow is trying to say that Drew's ankle is much better and he can now practice. He only played 15 minutes against GW due to, in part, his lack of practice time the previous three weeks.
P.S. I just read Dow's blog. And the lack of practice the last three weeks is one reason why Drew didn't play more. He's probably a little out of synch. As one blogger noted, there is a reason teams practice after all.

Like I said, I talked to Drew and he said that he felt 80 to 88%. I am glad Sean doesn't read the board to get advice to sit Drew from the chicken little crowd.

If they don't play him don't complain when he shows some rust.

I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.
