As I LISTENED to the game yesterday, I thought to myself "what if Burrell can regain the confidence and swagger he had as a frosh(with a couple 30 poiint games and some game winners) this season?"
- I like his big plays yestertday
- Martelli pumping him up may help the confidence level, too.......as long as it all builds confidence and swagger...and not necessarily the rifleman in him.
If he can be that confident guy(opposite of the guy I saw wearing #34 against Ohio State) I really like our chances.

I've got to be honest with you. That smells like pure gasoline.

Re: Burrell & confidence
Burrell is an excitable guy. An adrenaline junkie.
Defense is his crack.
I'd HATE to be the scorer that Hammer is gonna guard during the torunament. With stan knowing that his career would be over with a loss, he's gonna go out in a blaze of glory.
In my mind, Stan has been the best "senior" since Mike Hawkins (meaning guy that develops into a totally different player as a senior).
Get em, stan.

Re: Burrell & confidence
We Xavier fans are spoiled with the backcourt of Burrell and Lavender. We have Stanely's enthusiasim and passion and Lavender's calm and ultra confidence leading us. Though it does seem Burrell has his confidence back and is looking like the old Burrell scoring wise, I would highly doubt we see the scoring numbers he has put up in the past. Though he now believes he can do it, we have too many weapons and we are way to selfless to just focus on one person, it is comforting knowing this in my opinion.
Stanley has completely run away with our MVP for the season with his outstanding defense and amazing leadership IMHO.
Lets hope he can lead us deep into march....deeeep

Love what Hammer has brought on D and leadership this year--still too many dumb turnovers on offense tho, and clearly the MVP of this team is DREW!!!

I won't disagree with drew, cause I feel he is what makes this team great, but I also believe its stanleys intense leadership that keeps us so focused and hungry, and also sets the tone on defense, which is what sets this team apart from others in the country, intense defenseSC in DC wrote:Love what Hammer has brought on D and leadership this year--still too many dumb turnovers on offense tho, and clearly the MVP of this team is DREW!!!
