A Good Book

Postby edgecliff hall » Mon Mar 22, 2021 12:06 pm

If you are a fan of minimalism, I suggest a book I'm reading now. A MOVEABLE FEAST. About living in Paris in the nineteen-twenties. By Earnest Hemingway.
A Chicago guy.
He writes like Loyola plays basketball.

Are you reading the restored edition?
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

Yes, I am. Really like the stuff on Scott Fitzgerald. Reminds me of an old Xavier friend who also came from Saint Paul." Speaking of books, I am having a really hard time getting through CODE BREAKER. Reminds me of how awful I was in science courses. But Blessings on all them guys for their service to humanity.

Interesting the forward explaining the difference in the book and how editors can change a book. Because it was post EH death book it seem strange for different editors to include and exclude or even change chapters. Seems strange when talking about his time in Paris he begins the book with a description of toilets and cesspools, etc. The book so far is interesting based on the previous version.
