Elite Pros look to Europe over NBA...

Articles mention that more NBA players are now going to Europe than ever before, for the money. Recent articles mention that even the elite of the NBA are now checking out offers from Europe's pro teams. Some offers are from $30 million to $50 million(per year). Both LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are now entertaining offers to go to Europe to play when their contracts run out very soon. Kobe is even entertaining being an owner of a European team and playing for it. We may be looking at the beginning of the end for the NBA having the best of the best. So our X guys in Europe may become a step up LOL.

Take those $30 million paydays and bring the money back to the USA. Sounds good to me. The NBA for years have explored international teams so this might be the start. Some day we might see a USA team comprised of foreigners and foreign teams with US players.

This may have an NFL-AFL or NBA-ABA look to it, which means that the upstart league offers big-name players big money to come over, and, after a while, the bigger, more established league decides it better business to simply buy out/incorporate the new competition.

I think the NBA has been talking about going international for years, so this may speed up the process.

It might also open up ownership for more bizillionaires. I am not sure how many ownership changes have occurred in the last 10-20 years; maybe only Mark Cuban comes to mind, but if it is like the NFL, the NBA could use some new faces...
