Backfeed welcome. 4 of us who have been XU fans for 30 plus years have had a recurring talk about how teams get selected to the Dance. Implementing these lessons, but not eliminates the "slightly partial committee's" decisions. Here goes:
1. All League Champs still in.
2. Any team under .500 in their league NOT ELIGIBLE. So if you finish 9-9 & lose 1st League Tourney game, you finish under .500.
3. Any team that finishes undefeated in League play or wins League outright by 2 or more games guaranteed a play in game, even if they lose League Tourney.
4. No League Tourney Champs would be forced to have a play in game.
Reasoning for all this: Many of these "Non Power Leagues" have teams good enough to compete with the 6th or lower place team that made the dance from a Big 6 Power Conference. "Non Power League" teams often play 2/3 of non-conference games on road vs Power Leagues who can get 2/3 or more non-con games at home. "Lesser League" teams also can't get Top Teams to schedule them at all - or NEVER at home. Currently, teams know how to "manipulate the ratings system" to get into the dance. This would lessen, but not eliminate the "computer rankings" bias.

FYI
While editing the above post I noticed an oddity with the profanity filter on this site with the words "Feed & back" when combined, i.e., "*****".
Now "Backfeed" is evidently acceptable - go figure,
