Most inspirational X player I have seen in 30 years! Unfortunately we better savor the rest of this season because it is so unlikely that we will ever see another like him! He plays with his whole heart and soul.

They showed the picture of JP doing the Gator Chomp but they didn't show the picture of the Wisconsin fans giving JP the finger as he was doing the chomp.
I love his game and its been great to see him play 4 years at X.
Will miss him when he graduates.

Look closely at the blurred picture of the fans and many are giving JP the finger in that picture. It did not state though that the fans had done this throughout the game.

There is no doubt in my mind Cronin lied re: JP saying F.U. I think he definitely responded, as any competitor would, when Cronin baited him by cursing at him all game (as reported by an objective source: a CBS reporter, though not sure who it was). As many opined, he had to create some way to distract from his miserable Shootout and NCAA Tourney record.

The only other player who could match JP in intensity but not shooting was the late Dave Lynch. His teammates called him "Bats" which was short for battery. His main claim to fame was he went to high school with Ann Margret. Gosh there are some many from those teams in the mid-to-late 60s that have passed on already. That is why I want Steve Thomas to have his number retired. Funny, but Dave was given #10 the year after Steve graduated. Then it went to John Zeides when we finally beat UC in 69.
