As good a draw as possible

Postby oldhoopster2 » Sun Mar 05, 2017 8:43 pm

Just one man's opinion, but if X has any chance to do well in the BE tourney, they got the best draw for them. X could never beat Villanova at this point. Thou I don't expect them to beat Butler, they have been close near the end of both losses to them. A few good bounces, taking care of the ball and a little help from an off day by Butler and miracles can happen. Creighton is inconsistent since losing Watson and we only lost to Providence on the road by a dozen without Tre. Guess one can dream. Afraid a single win won't be enough to go dancing.

if we beat DePaul wednesday, we are IN.

would love another win vs. Butler but we won't need it to get in.

Hope the team doesn't buy into that. Too many potential obstacles. Unforeseen tourney winners in some leagues. Bubble teams winning big games in their own tourneys. With a 3-7 record in last 10 games (if we beat DePaul and lose to Butler), committee will consider those last 10. That would also make us 5-7 without Ed, with 3 of those wins against DePaul, not real impressive for the committee. I hope the team feels they need to win at least 2 games. I don't buy the big name bracetologists (sp?). There are always teams left out and X is on the low edge of the bubble at this point.
